A few weeks back I was leaving work around 5ish and as I was getting on I-10E bound I noticed a 2002-04 mustang with windows down and sounded like full exhaust, but didn’t really think anything of it. We are both creeping along in traffic and as I slowly pass by he revs it, laughing I rev back. About 2 minutes later he gets up next to me trying to get me to race. But like I said before we are in traffic. There were cars literally 10 feet ahead of us in all lanes. Plus I wasn’t sure I wanted to waste the gas. So I just smiled and ignored. Later down the road I find him in the center lane basically waiting for me. Both lanes are clear for a quick race, basically from a dig 5mph+-. So I look over and give him the go ahead. Let him get about 2-3 lengths on me and I floor it. And pretty much flew by him like he was in reverse. Lol. Good times.

01 Z28, 3.42, full exhaust, SS3600, on sticky tires.

I thought it stood for "Garrett Turbo". This means I don't have a turbo? This sucks!

I hate it when cars do that bs in traffic. I had a damn c6 z06 rev and then floor it just to hit his brakes 10 feet ahead... I was like "where the hell are you gonna go" I didn't understand. People are stupid sometimes...

HAHA! You're not the first person to say that. I would run people and they would come back and get all upset cuz they couldn't find the "bottle" on my car ... it was just a little GT

The GTs I remember racing in my LT1 probably had a catback. I'd be surprised if they didn't.

The car itself wasn't too mean. I never lost to another Gt, Mach1, LT1. Beat a few cobras and vettes at the track and on the street from a dig also. I'm not saying it was faster than LS1 because they would walk all over me on the highway. And yes, it did have a rough life when it was driven. But very well taken care of while not on the road. I miss that car a lot. I'll post up pictures one day. Probably not on this site though haha!

thats a good running gt/driver, i have a 97 cobra and the best time that ended up coming out of it was an 8.56@82 on 28 inchslicks (maybe a better time had i ran 26's)coming out of the hole about 5,000.

h pipe and a ram air mod.

a full bolt on gt 99+ was a good race..

I'd try 26". I was on drag radials but still spun a little out of the hole. 8.5 isn't bad at all for a 97 cobra, and you don't really have any mods...
