Angry WTF? "Clash of the Titans" Winnings Check Returned with NSF?!

I have e-mailed the contact for COTT, but have not got a response yet. I am truly baffled as to why a major racing organization would be handing out checks when they do not even have sufficient funds in the bank! What in the world are they doing with the entry fee money then!? I wonder how many other winners checks bounced. This is just crazy, it's not like it was hundreds of dollars, but still - This has never happened to me before! I better get my well-earned pay-out in cash soon, plus the fee for a returned check!

Clash really got hit hard last year $$$ wise with all of the rainouts they had. If those checks are bouncing I can't see the series being around for too much longer.

Hey man, Is there any way you can copy my post and put over there too? I am not familiar with this site. I just want people to know (so they don't get stung too) because we spent quite a lot to drive there and then entry fees and then raced all day in the San Antonio smoldering heat for this BS? Ughh!

I believe you all won a couple thousand, right? Have you tried e-mailing Freddy and have you got any response? This really blows. Sorry, I need to calm a little...

That is some BS right there, damn. Payouts should be secured BEFORE paying out.

Yes, Freddy has already sent us a money order to make up for the bounced check. Let me know if you have any problems, I can contact him for you.

Freddy got back with me yesterday and apologized. He is sending me a cashier's check. He said the ordeal was that O'Reillys delayed their check by 2 weeks, so some people's checks bounced. Either way, you should have the winning $$ secured BEFORE you have an Event! I really like COTT Events, but this may make me rethink going to compete in any of them. Plus, they REALLY need to raise the payout on the Index Classes!

I agree, but the index classes arent what draws the crowd to the cott. Its the outlaw 10.5 cars and the true 10.5 cars. Index racing doesnt appeal to alot of spectators.

Glad to see Freddy got it all worked out.

LOL @ thinking index classes should pay more. People do not pay 20 dollar entrance fees to watch 10/11/12 second cars run. Sorry. If you want more money, just keep entering in local bracket races.

Some of us are not given/handed down a lot of money to be "the fastest" so we deal with what we got. I am sure we all had to start somewhere. There's nothing wrong with bracket/index racing. In the end, there will always be someone faster than when they think they are the "fastest". I think some suggest I should stay home and race because I will come and take the money in their city!

Nobody said anything was wrong with bracket racing. Its not a debate of what is better index vs heads up, but a debate of what is more fan friendly. The winner hands down no questions asked is heads up outlaw racing, period, end of story.

LMAO... someone got their feelings hurt The larger payouts go to who draws the crowd. Without the Outlaw and TT5 there would be no event.

That came from left field

I think index racing is pretty exciting to watch myself. In the index I run in the cars are all tenths and thousandths within each other which makes for a good show.
