umm, LT1s suck.

i dunno, i just thought i'd get on the band wagon. I know if i was a shop i'd refuse to work on the LT1's just because of the headache potential. wires are getting brittle, most are aged/ragged to the point they are a time bomb. i know i have to tip toe around mine sometimes.

Dont act like you dont have a red pos LT1 Z28 laying around your shop.

And we just finished our LAST () LT1 project this week. And it was pretty impressive for a lt1. It dynoed 490 RWHP on motor with a unlocked converter and a 12 bolt!

Every LT1 that comes in your shop just needs to built up like that red 96 SS with the D1SC.

Why all the hate on the LT1's? I've got a 396 LT1 going in the race car that made 698 hp. on motor. Hell there are a boat load of 408 LS1's that haven't made that kind of power. My engine makes powa now that all the machine work was performed correctly, and a little more compression, and a crazy cam, oh and no stinking fuel injection.

???Tony Shepard??? anyone 397 LT-1. 550rwhp with a dual stage 500 shot.

???Ed Wright??? Holds the NA record for a LT-1, I believe deep 9's. Both members on here and they have faster cars then most on here.

And they are both members on here.

LOL. I was trying to help.

Tony's car is bad, period, he has put a lot of time and effort in to that car over the 13 years he's owned it. Far as Ed Write go, him and Rick Abare both have impressive set ups, full interior pump gas strokers that run 9s NA with 4L60s, but neither are the fastest. Joe Overton is still the fastest NA, Steve Quin in the fastest N/A with a GM LT1 head.
