I was speaking of the weight, not popularity. Makes me love that there arent that many fast third gens out there as fox bodys.

Just a little fyi the car that you ran was me, not chris and its a primer gray monte carlo ss not silver. It does have a big Xtreme sticker across the back since the shop and the guys here have helped along the way of building my car. Just like Marcus said, with any racecar you have to dial it in. This is my first car and i built it with used take off parts seeing as how I am on a budget.

Congratulations Arvil, Becky, Chris, Marcus, David, Travis and everybody else at Xtreme. That's no small feat.

Sounds like it's just a matter of making it official.

What was the previous record and how long did it stand?

Remember guys, that's an off the shelf intake manifold with factory heads. It is not a sheetmetal Beck or Wilson manifold with aftermarket castings underneath.

For anyone that's interested... the spooky part is this combination is relatively fresh. The entire combination might have 25 passes on it, all of them this Spring and Summer. The car has been under construction for quite some time. I know how much time and R&D went into that engine and combination.

In an era when forced induction and Nitrous power adders seem like they are taking over, it is refreshing to see the dedication to N/A Pumpgas mills that this crew has put into this project.

Good job Xtreme.

I like the look of the 3rd gen too. I've seen this car around, sharp looking car.

Nice times!

Oh yeah... one other thing.

Pretty sure no one has mentioned what it will do with 112 or 116 in it.

Any guesses?

Very impressive guys! That's rolling on out for a pump gas set up.

What transmission are ya running?

It will likely run a tad bit slower with 112/116 fuel in it unless the tune is tweaked for the higher octane fuel.

Congrats!!

Thanks man!

We have had a 44X ish engine in the works for almost a year now hoping to take the pump gas LS record. You guys are gonna be tough to catch

We are going to stick with a hyd set up and are gonna have to drop some serious weight.

Sounds like ya'll have a very well rounded shop there.

Major props!!!!
