Default My new project: '56 F100.

Well i was at work the other day & came across this truck that this guy was selling. I ended up buying it for 400 bucks which to me was a steal. I really wanted a 56 chevy pickup but i couldnt pass up the deal so ill be starting the modding process in about a month or so. My mom was laughing when she saw it;( but im looking forward to it. My dad was trying to talk me into putting a 350 in it but i think id rather keep it all ford so i may eventually go with a 302 or maybe a 351.

Im a long way off but.....

Im hoping It will look like this in about 2 years or so.

Looks kinda ruff

Good luck with the build, I used to work at a restoration shop. Takes lots of time, money, and patience.

Good luck with that man. Looks like you've got your work cut out for you.
I've always wanted to see a 429 Cobra Jet in one of those early F100's

yeah ive been looking and it seems that most of these guys that own these vehicles are running chevy motors. But heres a couple of ford motors that caught my eye.

For $400 bucks you stold it... If you know how to do the work, it's not that hard to do, good luck.

If you got it with a title, $400 was a good price. And just put an LS1 & a 6 speed & you may even get decent MPG, lol.

Good chance to learn how to weld too if you don't yet. I am going to work on my '34 (in my Fquick link) and learn how to do a lot in the process as well. LS1/Fbody stuff I got, old school body & paint...not so much, lol. I already have a lil 350 for it, but I'm thinking of trying to find a little I4 tubro diesel or something a little different to put in it just for the heck of it....I wouldn't mind a 250 chevy I6 either but we'll see......heck, mabye even one of the newer I6's or I5's from the trail blazer/colorado line up if I find a cheap setup. I gotta do some home work on it first. If nothing else, I may at least try to do a TBI FI setup so it's a bit more reliable & 'quick start' than a carb setup.....

The Terminator block and internals are fully forged while the GT500 block and internals are not fully forged, and the GT500 block is much more expensive last I checked.

By the time he gets to that point, I'm sure it will be cheaper. He's got his work cut out for him on the body restoration & interior. Wait long enough & maybe you can even get a ZR1 power train Besides, it's just $$.
