Galveston Cruise Saturday Afternoon/Evening - With Stop in Kemah 7/19/08
I wanted to put a feeler out here to see wo might be interested in a bit of a cruise around Galveston maybe having a late lunch in the afternoon, then rolling over to Kemah to check out the car show Saturday evening.
It would be nice to get 10-20 cars together to make a good LS1Tech showing.
Anybody up for that? Ned to find out pretty quick so we can establish a route and plans.

Sure, bikes are fine with me...we are kind of setting this up as we go here. I would just say we want to keep the horseplay down so we don't get hassled. OK, look like we have 4-5 ready to go...keep em' comin'

when we hold cruises we always stop at THE SPOT. its on the seawall and has some good food and they love to have car cruises there. Dont even bother with hooters...they dont have a dedicated parking lot and you have to fight the seawall parking for a spot!
If I am off the misses and I may clean up the SS for a final voyage if she sells

Then we probably need to get a solid number figured out by tonight so I can call tomorrow morning. I will figure out a place to meet initially as well this afternoon, and post a little later today..

how about beltway 8 and 45 around 10:00. Roll out round 11/11:30 (give enough time for people to get there)
When should we be in Kemah?? when is the carshow?
is the drive from kemha to Galveston worth it? whats the distance time wise?
we can eat at Joes Crab Shack (or wherever fishtails) and take pix on the peer or something...OR we cn drive to Gtown after the carshow and eat at The Spot (GREAT burgers) and take pics on that slanted wall (forgot the name)
i donno just ideas

Meeting at 8 and 45 would be good. The car show in Kemah starts going about 6pm and really heats up about 7pm. The drive distance from Kemah to Galveston is probably 20-30 minutes. We can meet earlier/closer to noon and drive down to Galveston which would put us at The Spot at say 12:45pm or so, eat....leave around 2pm and go to the pier for pics and then....what?

I say we meet at 130pm and hit The Spot at around 2pm (lunch rush will be gone by then) eat until 330pm, then hit the pier for pics and lounging around a bit until 5-530pm and then head over to Kemah to be there sometime after 6pm. Will be a later lunch but seems to reason that we will miss a lot of the lunch hour folks and have more space to ourselves. Work?
