If you can get the computer to stay on a few minutes go to:
Start button ---> My Computer ---> Right Click on Local Drive C ---> Properties ---> Tools tab ---> Error checking button ---> Check both boxes and click start. The computer should ask you to reboot to check the disk, let it do that and if all is good with the disk then you should likely replace the system memory.
Another way to check the disk out even if it wont boot is to use your XP or toshiba recovery CD and pop it in and boot to it, the XP disc has a repair area on it that will attempt to repair the drive and the toshiba disc should too.
I am going to take an educated guess (I own a computer repair and networking business) and say that the memory is jacked up. If you get the blue screen of death it is usually bad memory, especially in laptops. I see this all the time.
Good luck.

I agree...I build/have built a bunch of "high end" systems.
