Engineering Majors

???
Are you asking about engineering courses or CBK's? It is doable if you are taking CBK's such as government, history, math, etc. Math is not an enginnering course, its just one of the tools you will need in engineering courses. If you are taking engineering courses such as statics, mechanics of materials, and vibrations then it wont be possible. Almost everything after your sophomore year will have prerequisites which will in turn be a prerequisite for the next semester.
I took 16 hours of just Mech Engr courses last semester and it was next to impossible. 16 was the maximum I was allowed to take because of prerequisites and I actually was lucky being able to take 16. During finals and midterms I only slept every other day. It all paid off though because I ended up with a 3.3.
You could go to ITT tech or TU and take 20 hours

From experience I took, 18hrs my first semester at ISU. went fine and after that it was 14-15hrs which is about right for me. But if you have a bunch of lab hours which I found to be alot easier. then thats a different story.

I took 19hours in the fall of 07, and I worked 45+hours a week. I work night shifts, and I can do homework, study, and sleep. It was hard, but I made it out with a 3.3gpa. I will be taking 18 hours my next two semesters, but I will only be working 30hours. Should be finished in May of 09(4years exactly).
BTW, I am a electrical engineering major at OU

Who are your professors?
Physics II lab isn't that bad--there are no reports due outside of class. You do the lab for an hour or two, then spend the remainder of the time writing up the "report" and doing calculations. Know ahead of time that the physics labs are curved to a B-, so only a few people in your class will get A's (this was the case with both of my physics labs, anyway).

back to topic.. 20 hours Engineering at UT can be quite daunting. When I went there, I was molecular bio major and never took more than 15 hours a semester and didn't work at all. But that was also different, because I was wake and bake back then too. (If i remember, med school was equivalent to 30ish college hours a semester, then again, I had NO life at all then. it was wake, school, study, sleep, repeat)

To the OP, 20 hours is possible, but be ready to work at it.

Those 20 hrs are doable at UT, but finals time will suck. Don't cram in a bunch of the engineering classes in the future though or you will be hurting. I graduated in 3.5 years at UT + summer school and wish I would have just taken an extra semester. Enjoy college as long as you can . Don't rush to finish in less than a 8 semester workload if you can. Good luck

In that case, you may want to use some punctuation & capitalization there grammar king!
If you are working at all or want to have time to enjoy college girls, 20 hours is probably going make for a pretty rough semester. How disciplined are you?

I worked full time and took a max of 12 hrs engineering. Your jr/sr engineering courses are about 8-10 hrs of homework, reports, and labs per week....per class. I only slept 3-4 hrs per night, for about 3 years. No cars, no partying, nothing but working and studying.
Made up for that lack of partying afterwards

Is Dr Zelby still there in the EE program? He was jewish, but by the way he taught and graded exams you would have sworn he was a ****. LOL, and the main reason I switched to mechanical.
BTW, I took 18 hours and it wasn't too bad. I actually found that I did better when my plate was full. I didn't not work much though, partying was a full time job at OU, but that was a long time ago.

You never know. When the oil bust happened in the 80s, the only use for a petro degree was if you ran out of toilet paper. Sure, its a great degree NOW, but wait five years when this bubble we are sitting on (in the oil patch) blows. Weeeeee......back down to reality.....
