trans am headlight problem....

Default trans am headlight problem....

Last night after I got out of my car and hit the romote lock..the doors locked then the headlights fliped up then went right back down but my driver headlight started making a horrible buzzing noise..its trying to continue to go down even after its down as far as it can....the motor won't quit...it stays on for about 5 seconds then quits(grinding and buzzing)....is the headlight motor just going out?

It's those worm screws in there. Ton's of write ups about it and plenty of fixes. Try the brass ones. Both of mine do this but it's tolerable if you tell the people that ask that your car has a Growl modification upgrade.

Use the other half of those gears and you should be okay for another while. But like Grimlock said....try a search and find plenty of fixes.

Got a new gear from NAPA, $10.00 been in there for 1.5 years and works like a champ. Its still a nylon gear but you cant beat the price

Its the gear inside the motor housing. Either flip it to use the other side that isn't stripped or order the brass gears and never worry about it again.

it's called the 180 mod, just flip that plastic gear and be good for another 10 years or by the brass ones. easy to do, did both mine.

I flipped mine and they worked for the rest of the time i had the car.

I flipped mine and couldnt get it to work right. So I bought the gear.
