03-05 viper or c6z?

Vipers aren't that expensive to modify, no different than a Corvette really. I have $6500 into mine and it puts down 675 rwhp. Also has stock drivability at that power. Paxton and a catback, car still has factory exhaust manifolds and cats on it too.
Pre-08 SRT Vipers are 9.5:1 compression ratio, perfect for boost.

If somebody dropped there car off at a shop and asked them to add the same package you have...there is no way they would be leaving the shop without spending at least $12K

I don't think he's adding in labor.

Cost on the procharger kit was about $5800. Most people here could install a bolt-on blower kit themselves. The car has zero custom tuning, just the FMU and booster pumps that come with the kit. I sure didn't get the catback for free, Nick at MTI built it. It wasn't really needed for the power level, just the sound. You could probably build your own Viper catback, it is just two straight sections of 3" pipe with a 90 at the front, a straight-thru Magnaflow muffler, and a chopped 90 at the exits. Pretty simple looking.

Procharger: $6900 (superchargers4less)
Installation labor: $1900
Custom catback: $1000
Please tell me how that adds up to over $12K. Still under $10K if you pay someone to install it. Like I said, the catback isn't even required for my power level. That would be $8800 installed on the blower kit. It is very similar to installing a Procharger D1SC into a C6, but the C6 will require longtubes ($1200), catback ($1200), custom tuning ($500) and higher boost levels to achieve 675 rwhp. My system still has the stock pulley on it. Then lets talk about the stock C6 clutch lasting very long at that power, or the shortblock for that matter.

Have you owned one and priced the parts? Here is street pricing for you:
Procharger: $6900 (superchargers4less)
Installation labor: $1900
Custom catback: $1000

Has this information ever been posted on Viper Alley? I doubt Hennessey would still be in business with his $20k H/C Packages if they could have almost 100 more rwhp and stock driveability for less than half the cost.

The masses on both of those sites go Twin Turbo due to the ego thing. The send to different tuners based off of what that tuner has built and want to one up the last build. For the most part, these owners are not as concerned about budget builds as they feel that this is "beneath them".
Tony is absolutely right though, you can make more power that will last longer with the Viper. Both cars are GREAT, and either would be a GREAT purchase. You won't regret either. For a daily, I would stay away from the Viper, but I wouldn't even daily a C6Z.

depends on how big you are. i am 6'2" 265lbs and the srt10 is too snug. my bro is 6'4" and had to look over the windshield of the srt 10. the c6z06 gave neither of us any problem... if you aren't as big as we are, then you have to decide, but for someone of our proportions, the viper was uncomfortable....extremely bad *** and i wouldn't hesitate to drive it, but it was very uncomfortable.

That might be true, but you have an LS2 C6. The thread is about the C6Z. Try boosting one of those up to 700 rwhp reliably, the LS2 is better for that. Just like the '04-06 Viper is better at using boost than the '08 Viper.
