Good BBQ on the North side??

BBQ sauce seems to be based on personal preference. I am not as big on the sauce as I am on places actually being able to slow cook their brisket & have it be tender & tasty instead of stringy & rubbery. I actually enjoy Papa's bbq sauce, and never cared for Sugar's (only one close to Spring is Greenspoint, which is Houston, not Spring). Have you tried Rudy's yet at Loutta & 45, their sauce is spicy & has a little heat to it. Not my preference, but the quality of food is decent and the price is nice....you can get a pretty thick sliced beef sammich for like $3.95.

LMAO... we had Pappas the other day, and while the sausage and beef ribs were cooked EXCELLENT, i believe sauce make the day when it comes to restaurants BBQ...
I will have to check out Rudy's... and i work in the GP area, but spring is only like 6 minutes up the FWY...

If you go down Rankin a little ways, before you get to hardy, there used to be this old van that had a pit on the back of it across from this little gas station/truck stock....it had good BBQ....

The best BBQ I've had in this area is at Red River in League City right before 270.

Pro tip: Take your own BBQ sauce if you are that picky
And yes, I agree, the sauce makes the Q....but I happen to think Papas is pretty good, although I really prefer a thicker, smokey, sauce with brown sugar & honey in it. Some day I'm going to develop my own recipe for sauce.

I like Rudy's alot, I've heard good things about RailRoad Crossing BBQ on old hempstead. Also I like Gabby's BBQ. On the south side, Central BBQ is good as is Joe's in Alvin. Never tried Red River in League City, but wanted to try it.

We've had Tin Roof catered here at work that was quite tasty & a coworker said they ate at their place in Humble & enjoyed it. I may have to drive over to Humble & dine in when I get some free time.
