I am in Deer Park.
Been running off generator but got primary power & internet last night @11pm. We're the lucky few that has power due to our electrical is all underground. Places that receieve power through power lines are still without.
They say there's on the news bodies floating at Bolivar Peninsula & "Crystal Beach is no more". Galveston is shut down.
There was about 5 mil without power..don't know the present numbers.
Almost died yesterday with dad & aunt when ran into hanging power line but thankfully power was off. LOL.
Cell phone service is down for most. Can not get ahold of friends in areas that got hit hardest.
On top of that, now we have bad line of thunderstorms rolling through
My friends fled to Lake Charles & woke up because they were hot (fan stopped working) & put feet down off bed to ankle high water in the house..4 ft outside. Cars flooded, lost phones & some luggage but are OK.
I'll try to get pics up later. Be careful out there.
PS have some good news, we lost our fence & now have access to 4 swimming pools.
WHOEVER was asking about gas..I hear TEXANS at the Beltway & Almeda-Genoa is up with power as well as Wal Mart in Deer Park @ East & Spencer (the store should be up soon if not already they were bringing in generators to run store) but you're probably going to have to take back roads through DP to get there. NO ICE though as of early this morning..

As weird as it sounds..........I think my neighborhood and Shadow creek ranch are the only people with power in Pearland..........If you drive thru its pitch black, then lit up for like 2 streets. and then black again. across 518 there is no power still also. We are extremely lucky to have little damage to the house (parts of the fence are gone, some shingles missing).
Couldnt sleep at all last night and the rain was coming soo hard at the front window it was coming through the pieces of glass that made up the window where they are siliconed to the metal frame and middle.
I am making a video of my neighborhood and areas close to me so you guys can see what this thing did almost an hour from galveston. It doesnt compare to the coast but it did enough........I spent all day doing various things the help my family and friends get through this crap.

just got internet again... power came on last night about 8pm.
we were very lucky that no damage occured to our house or cars. Many houses in our neighborhood sustained roof damage, some broken windows. It doesnt flood around here thank God, but for those that know the first colony/Sugarland area, there are a lot of trees lining the roads, and 9/10 of them were uprooted or broken down, many road blockages yesterday. Many many fences blown down also.

Glad to hear that pretty much everybody is doing ok. So sad to see all the damage going on.
Crystal beach looks like a bomb went off. I heard that a ton of the Kemah waterfront is gone too.

I live in an estate addition just SE of Brazos Bend State Park and we lost 3 large trees. Needless to say we will not need any firewood for the rest of our lives. My 2 chainsaws are going to be working overtime for the next week or two.

Power just came back on here in Nacogdoches. Ours went out yesterday at 8am. Here's a few pics of our damage:
We had 250 evacuees staying in this building from Lamar College:
There's 2 cars under this massive tree. They got extremely lucky and probably will just need a new hood
And this is what college kids do in 75+mph winds

My brother, who lives off of Dairy Ashford just south of Memorial, was told by the power company guys in the neighborhood today it will be 3-4 weeks before power is restored in his neighborhood as the grid was devastated.
