Hm...any word on how the lake is doing? My aunts house backs right up to the lake.

So does my dad's house (lives right on the lake in Longmire). He didn't mention it, but we got cut off and he hasn't called back (cell is spotty right now). I'd bet they're OK right now, the lake tends to usually run a little low anyway.

My parents in the Cypress area lost a few big pine trees. The usual limbs scattered everywhere and no power.

Other then that, nothing too crazy has gone on.

I talked to Dru "xplicitperformance" and he looked at my house.

We only lost two sides of our fence and the storage shed. Our lawn mower is still there and our grill is still on the back porch. We lost many shingles on the rear of our house but everything seems to be intact. My fish will probably die since we have no power to circulate the water but fish can be replaced.

My car is on jackstands in the garage so it is ok.

We evacuated up to Canyon Lake where I rented a house that sleeps 10. We have 18 in here including the kids as the wife's family all showed up but whatever.

I hope everyone is safe and doing well. Be safe going home and cleaning up and I better not hear any crying about government assistance. Let's just clean up the area and show N.O. how it is supposed to be done!

I am really worried. I live in clear lake, (by scout bar) and I am in montana on vacation. I did not get to prepare at all for this. My flight has been delayed 2x getting back. Not only that my car is at my parents in LaPorte, along with my engine build going on in their garage.

Last I heard my parents tree that has been there 30 years is leaning on their garage. I am scared of the outcome when I get home.

We live in La Porte and we had somebody check our house (we evacuated to wimberly) and everything is fine there, missing a couple shingles that's about it. Our above ground pool is even still standing and our rotten 26 yr old fence isn't even missing a plank haha, sounds like a weaker storm than I thought. There wasn't much surge up in the upper bay either it sounds like. God was with my family and our house during this one that's for sure. Hopefully everyone else is just as fortunate. Good luck everyone.

Well, we survived without any damage to our home. Here are some pictures from yesterday and today.

House boarded up

Cars parked

Before and after of the back yard. The eucalyptus tree snapped.

The green houses didn't fare so well. No real structural damage on the wooden one. The window panels are everywhere.

View from the window.

Generator in the garage.

Drove around the neighborhood. For the most part the damage consists of downed fences and roof shingles. I didn't see any trees damage houses.

Here is a couple snapshots from laporte from my friend. This is my parents where both of the fbodys reside. It was a very close call. I am sad I have known that tree for all of my life. It was 30yrs old.

yah it could of been alot worse! We had the Camaro out in the driveway on a car hauler....our tree in the front yard was laying right on top of the sunoco hood! luckily just a few scratches and some missing paint but nothing major. We did lose our back fence and both side fences. Had two trees snap and one laid right into the fence. Lost a few shingles and of course power. Ike did do some damage.....lets just hope we can get our power up and running here soon.

Hope everyone fares well and not too much damage. everything can be replaced lets just hope ur family and loved ones are okay!
