Hurricane IKE Thread
Little storm vid as north of the inner eye came over us, crazy storm, glad to see everyone is ok.

Drove over to Bacliff to check out the damage, can't believe some decided to ride this out being in a mandatory evac.

This poor Pelican was 3' from me and was so tired, there were hundreds of these guys just sitting there confused wondering what the hell just happened!

I took some pics of the heights area. Enjoy
Looking out the front door

you can see the massive root ball from a tree right past my truck

This is my street as well not sure how my little Z survived!

It was as if the trees where trying to KILL US

My Camaro survived the storm! I can't say the same for my backyard but as long as I still have a roof and I'm alive I won't complain.
I'm trying to finish up my 48 hour shift at the hospital so I can go home.

So how's gas availability where you guys are at?
I took my dad a generator this afternoon, met up with him in Marlin (he lives in Conroe). Basically, there were few to no gas stations open / with fuel on his route. He filled up in Marlin. Sounds like everything south of the Bryan-Madisonville line is totally borked. Even Centerville had no gas.
It almost sounds like it's going to get worse, on the gasoline front... People need gas to get around, but if they can't get it, things are gonna get ugly.
And on another topic, our group secretary was saying something about alligators attacking people in Galveston, and they were intentionally keeping that off the news?

.... My neighborhood was like a island. We survived!!!! Brett I looked @ the same exact house you took a pic of in Bacliff today. I've already killed 1 Miller welding machine powering me & my neighbors house, went to the shop and picked up another one. Drinking it up @ the moment, ha ha....

We got power at my neighborhood in tomball around 12:30pm sunday but I was trapped in my aunts neighborhood due to high water till 6pm sunday. Overall we got lucky, only minor shingle damage to the roof. My apartment in stafford still has no power though as of right now :/, but it's okay because the gf lives 10min away in sugar land so i'm posting up here for now. Supposedly HBU has 8-10million worth of damage(59 & Fondren) so we don't have class till thurs.
Hope everyone else faired ok, if anyone needs help in the sugar land area shoot me a pm and i'll see what i can do!
