Bill Heard / Landmark = Out of Biz
Story: http://www.click2houston.com/news/17550789/detail.html
Bill Heard Enterprises, the country's top Chevrolet dealer group, is closing the doors at all of its 13 dealerships at the end of business today, according to a person with knowledge of the situation.
The company notified the stores' general managers at 2 p.m. today, the source said, who spoke anonymously because he was not authorized to speak.
High fuel prices, canceled floorplanning from GMAC Financial Services, a reliance on trucks and SUVs, a soft national economy and struggles in local markets had troubled the company, which on Sept. 12 closed its store in Scottsdale, Ariz.
In the end, the company could not raise operating capital and could not finance its floorplan, the source said. Company officials have discussed closing the company since Friday, the source said.

I'm sure that had a lot to do with the closing of the stores.
Assclowns. I hate those
pinstripes and the mark-up associated with them. When I was 18 years old, and driving around in my v6 1985 camaro, I was looking for something nicer. Dad and I saw this BEAUTIFUL new 1997 Z28 30th anniversary with the orange stripes and the houndstooth interior. T-tops and everything! With $4,500 in hand as a down payment, I was ready to hop in and drive off! As we were negotiating, the sales dude asked us to give him cash in hand to show the "main man" that we were serious. Very odd if you ask me. As it turns out, they declined me. I was in shock! Total and utter shock. I saved up more money and bought a 1989 IROC outright with $6,000 cash that had a lot of work done to it. I LOVED that car. It was actually a blessing in disguise because I probably would have been still paying that dang 30th off up until a few years ago. Either way though, it left me with a sour taste of them.
