Actually with the U-Coat, it comes out to $0.62/sq ft. after shipping. I'm probably going this route and if I want tile later on, I'll go with some race deck and lay it over the epoxy .

Thanks for your opinions guys!

Did a search for the vct tile and the cheapest I could find it for is $2.20 a square foot. For an average size garage that is about 800-900. Please tell me where you found it for .60c a tile. Tia.

Your floor looks kinda dull in some spots and shiny in others. What's up with that? Did you stretch the paint?
Only looks like that lookin' back out the front thru the old floor area. That's because the old floor had some other brand of floor coating on it before I applied the new stuff. And the old stuff had some texture to it, that's why the difference in the finish.

I was on my hands & knees scraping every last little bit off the old floor before deciding to put the epoxy over top of it. That's not a normal viewpoint & you can't notice it from most other angles.

Even with the new epoxy coating over the old, it's still not peeling up or blistering anywhere.

Home Depot or Lowes. You can also check a local flooring store... Home Depot Go into Vinyl Tile, then commercial, white is at the bottom of the page and black is on page 2.

how hard is the tile to cut?

i wouldnt think a utility knife would cut it too well.

I'll find out but I think you can score it with a utility knife and it will snap on the cut line.

I really like my epoxy. After 10 years the only place where I am missing any epoxy is where I am missing concrete from dropping something really heavy. The epoxy bond is stronger than the internal bond of the concrete.

If you epoxy, look into adding "grip" to it. One airport I worked at had straight epoxy floors. They are super slick when wet. Another airport I worked at had epoxy painted floors with "sand" in them for traction (I'm not sure what exactly you use) and they were much safer. YOu may want to leave the "car area" smooth for jacks etc and add "grip" to the area between cars and the path to the door.

Just my thoughts...

I just ordered the U-COAT IT system and it comes with everything I need except the Muratic Acid. It includes the "grip" material which is pretty much just sand. I think I'll apply it all around so that I don't run the risk of slipping on any part of the garage.

Thanks for the advice guys!

Johnny,

You can probably get the concentration of muratic acid you need at a pool supply store. You may want to check that out (may be cheaper than industrial supply).

Enjoy!!!!

Kevin
