Default shielding gas?

i was going to tig a piece of 18 gauge pipe to a 1/4" flange this evening and then i find that im completly out of argon. i have a bottle of 75/25 argon/ co2 for my mig machine. i was wondering if this bottle of gas would work. will this properly shield me for tig welding? thanks in advance!

nope...it'll make a mess. every once in a while i, or someone else, will grab a wrong bottle at work...helium, 75/25, argon, whatever...and it never comes out well.

it depends on what you're trying to weld together as well, i.e. specific grade of material and its intended use...you COULD stick them together, but i wouldn't do it if it's a pressure boundary or any important structural weld.

yeah, its for a blow off valve on blower piping. its kind of an important weld. guess i will be making a trip to the weld supply center then. thanks
