is this 2-1/4 ton Floor Jack stronge enought
?1.is this Sears 2-1/4 ton Floor Jack stronge enought to be placed under middle of K memeber and jack up whole front a 99F-body?
?2. same ? however this time w/ rear of car on ramps?
edit I thinking w/ rear on ramps this jack maynot fit under K-memeber.
2nd edit this jack will not be used on a daily basis just every now and then.
if this jack is a complete turd, please say so then recommend an econical floor jack w/ link.
Thanks

Yes Sir none of my body parts I plan on keeping ever go under a unsurported car.
I don't what to come off as a cheapskate on the floor jack I only have a driveway
and I store my tools in my shed wear I have to walk across grass about 25'.
I've read about the Costco jack looks good kindof heavey for me to drag on the grass.
leaning toward the steel harbor frieght 50LB jack.
guess the key for me on this el cheapo is that it will hardly be used, I preplan part swaps and try to do alot at one time.
when I build a inclosed real garage I'll get a nice jack and expect to leave a nice jack holding up my front wheels off the ground when car is'nt in use for extended periods of time. is this adviceable w/out surports on front just a jack holding car up?
Thanks Guys for advice

No I wouldn't leave just a jack holding the the car up for a long period of time...that's what the stands are for...the harbor freight aluminum one is a nice jack and it's light if you have to bring it somewhere or carry it far

AFAIK the online price is the same as the in store price. Went to Harbor freight on Sunday and the jack was at $129.99

HF is putting their sale coupons in LOTS of magazines now, they're in all of car mags I subscibe to. I didn't want to cut the pages to get a couple of coupons so just this past Saturday I took the entire magazine to HF and the cashier gladly scanned the coupons from the mag so I could take advantage of the discount. She even scanned the coupon for a free LED flashlight and gave it to me. Can't beat service like that.

Mike maybe I can save a screen shot of this web page and bring my lap top into the store? or can I just say 20save to cashier?

I currently don't have a printer, if HF rejects that I'll print at a public libray.
I wonder if the 20% online coupons can be used on allready discounted stuff? this jack I'm concidering is allready discounted $20.

I've been reading about floor jacks and think this jacks diemensions are to short
to fit under K-member and raise the whole front of car?
Like when I slide the jack under the KM doe's the handle have to be in a 90 degree angle upward?
Lastly are the seals on these HF jacks rebuildable? if yes are the seal just regular O rings and are they available at HF?
Thanks

how many pumps doe's the small HF jack take to get the car up 15"? got a link on it?
I ended up getting this turd for $49.49 shipped to house, it looks kindof flimsly so do the stands (my el cheapo walmart stands look safer), I maybe taking it back to Sears.
at least it fits under the front frame rail. just to many pumps to raise up high enought to place a stand.

I was going to use the hf coupon on a floor jack but read the fine print and it says "floor jacks not included" somewhere in there. Not knowing how they enter the discount though that's not to say it isn't possible to get it, just depends on the cashier maybe.

Harbor freight has now put alot out restrictions on there 20% off coupon. I wouldn't buy an aluminum jack personally. I've seen alot of them bend or drift off to the side when the car is raised. I sold my sears aluminum jack and stay away from them. Unless your lifting your jack all the time i see no use for one. Even a smaller steel jack is beret I'm my opinion for the track then the aluminum ones.

The thing I don't like with that Craftsman you listed is the small saddle on it. The Harbor Freight jack has a nice big saddle. The only thing that would have been nicer is if they put a rubber pad on the saddle. I did pick up a poly pad that sits on the saddle for about $5 to prevent marring.
