Default cordless impact

anyone know of a STRONG 1/2" drive cordless impact that actually works like its pneumatic brother? I see Matco has 18v 1/2" cordless impact that they say has 750 ft/lbs of breakaway torque and 450 ft/lbs working torque. The gun needs to be able to undo lug nuts as well as zap off balancer bolts. Any one with actual hands on experience with a cordless impact that they love let me know, thanks

Ingersol Rand has a new one coming out this month that is supposed to be the strongest on the market. It is called the 20v.

I have a Milwaukee, it's advertised at 450ft lbs. It will take off lug nuts with ease Never tried a balancer bolt. I have tried several rusted bolts that a Snap On 3/8 impact wouldn't budge, it did them with little effort.

I bought mine here:

http://www.cpomilwaukee.com/factory-...1=M18%20Li-Ion

That link takes you to a reconditioned unit, mine was new. But for $318 the price really can't be beat.

So a 1/2 drive vs a 3/8?

I have a cornwell impact that's not TOO bad... It'll take lugnuts off all day long. Snap on definitely has the strongest impacts around, but also the priciest.

I have personally used a 1/2in Snap-on to take lugnuts off. I'm sure the IR would be nice too.

I own a 3/8 snap on that I take the lugnuts off of my dually with. Im sure the the 1/2 is even better. Honestly though im not a snap on only type guy. Im just saying you will probably have good luck with most 1/2 electric impacts.

I really love the sears diehard 19.2V stuff... cheap, works well and when you want to upgrade to lithium the same tools work with that. The impact in that line is almost as good as my IR air impact, it's durable and will take off most nuts. I rotated all 4 tires on my Cummins Ram with mine (8 lugs, tighter and bigger than a car) all on the same charge.

Old neighbor was a MacTool Rep. showed me their cordless impact...we took off and put on all 4 tires (rotating the tires on a 2500HD) and the thing never gave a hint of a low battery, trouble, or even breaking a sweat.

We had a Dewalt at work....disappeared never used.

snap on owns the half and 3/8 market; Matco for the quarter drive

snappy half wouldn't touch an LS6 crank bolt.........but the IR2135Ti gets it every time

coulda bean a weak battery

I have had Snap On battery powered impacts since they came out with the 1/2 in 12v & they are hands down the strongest, most durable electric impacts on the market. I upgraded to their newer 18 volt last year & its very strong.

I do love my Matco 1/4 in 10.8 volt electric ratchet, expensive but super handy & the battery lasts a long time before it needs a charge.

As good as these impacts are they do have their limitations, not near the hammer strength of a 1/2 inch high end air gun like the IR2135Ti but I have no problems with most jobs like an axle nut socket.

I have a 1/2 MAC cordless impact and it has worked great for me, I've taken out Balancer bolts, lug nuts etc.
Ive even used it on a big tap one time that I was to lazy to do by hand and it worked out OK, but I wouldn't recomened it.
