I have a 2 arm pulley puller and im about to start my cam install and i wasbt sure if the 2 atm would work vs. The 3 arm

you need a 3 arm, i use one with a ball end on the thread and slide a ls1 behive spring retainer to protect the crank, works great.

I have a variety of pullers and my most stout 2-arm
one still has a limit to how hard it can pull before it
starts to lean over. 3-jaw will let you grief on it way
harder, if you need to.

Take a replica disc of something with you and look at
whether the jaws' pulling face is staying flat or biting
in, when it's snugged against the rim. Too small a
puller will have the arms kicked so far out at an angle
that it will pop off instead of bite. If you buy a bigger
one there's no downside except working height. This
depends a lot on the head geometry which will vary
brand to brand.

The stupid things are disassembled so taking something doesn't really help....the motor is out the car so space isn't an issue if I'm understanding you right. I'll just go with the 8" and hope it works out well.

i use a 2 arm to take my balancer off, done it a bunch of times now. 3 arm would probly be easier but it is possible to use the 2 arm

Okay I have my balancer off...but what is everyone using to reinstall it properly.

M16 threaded rod, 2-3 hardended washers and a M16 nut

Slide the balancer on as far as you can by hand, then thread the rod as far in as you can go by hand. Slide the washers on, spin the nut down, clamp the rod with vice grips so it doesnt spin. Tighten the nut and she's on there

<$20 from fastenal, takes 2 mins to install. Zero risk to the balancer, seals and crank threads
