My Moroso pan has -10 fittings. I will pump the oil through the remote filter then to the inlet on the pan.

jmespe1:

how did the 3/4 inch line fit on the threaded neck for the oil filter? I ask because the inlet and outlet on my HF pump is 7/8"

Thank you

Can anyon say whether or not this primes your lifters? Having problems checking pushrods because they keep collapsing.

If you have oil pressure and are turning the engine over by hand oil should fill the lifters. I have the same problem with lifters collapsing but haven't primed oil system yet.

So you think even turning it by hand would prime them?

No. Run the pump with the drill to get oil pressure, and at the same time, slowly turn the engine over by hand to allow oil to get to all the lifters.

Got ya. I thought what I was saying made absolutely no sense.

Drill pump has been superseded with a blue one. Picked it up today and also linked this thread. Thanks.

Pumped four qts of break-in oil at 40 psi and turned the crank until there was oil out all the pushrods. Took about 2-3 min. Here's my setup. Name: image.jpg1_zpsknbmovle.jpg

I like what you did pushing through a remote mount filter to ensure nothing but clean oil going into the block. Added insurance. What size hose and barbs did you use? If memory serves me correct that Harbor Freight pump has a pretty large OD (like 3/4" or so) on the pump inlet and outlet. Was thinking about getting this Derale adapter but it's only got 1/2" barbs. Thanks.
