Dewalt 1/4 20v Impact driver = AWESOMENESS
Model # DCF885 to be exact. Thing is super powerful to be so small. Combine it with some swivel impact sockets and it (im my opinion) makes air ratchets obsolete. Used it to reinstall my t56 and it was a life saver. Great addition to any tool box for sure!
Can you use this as an impact wrench and break loose bolts/nuts? I've been looking at impact wrenches and drivers but never really knew the difference and which one would be good enough for basic jobs around the house and car.
I'm still old schooling it at work with my 18v 1/4" gun. A few co-workers have the 20v, I'll eventually get the 20v brushless model with the larger 3.0ah batteries.
I did buy the tool only 18v 1/2" impact gun last year for my 18 v collection. Rated at 300 ft lbs . probably shouda waited for the 20 to come out. It's not bad but will hardly get my sprinter van lug nuts loose. Will get mine loose pretty easy.

I started to go brush less but decided it wasnt worth the extra 100 bucks. I imagine the motor would last longer and there are no sparks (for use around flammables)....but it has no extra torque so that was what I was worried about.
Brushless runs cooler, something important for my day job use of screwguns.
Got all excited today when I thought I saw a dewalt 20 v 1/2" impact gun rated at 650 ft lbs::::::::::::: till I quickly noticed it was pneumatic.

Update, got the premium labeled 20v impact/ hammerdrill combo recently. Has the 3.0 amp batteries with the charge level indicators. $329 @ home depot. Grabbed it in a hurry & didn't realize it wasn't brushless. Oh well but still a huge gain in power over 18 volt , lighter '& better battery life.
I got the 18v 1/2 " impact, now I'm staring at the 20v model::::$169 tool only , Rated at 400 ft lbs .
The 18 volt rated @ 300 ft lbs will take the lug nuts off my 3500 dually sprinter van if their not overly tightened by a num nuts tire shop.
When you watch car garage shows these days, most have some forms of battery impact guns now. Some things are changing for the better.
