Default Need help making a custom exhaust. Ball and socket connection

Hi,

I'm in the process of helping my buddy build a custom full exhaust for his rock crawler with an Ls1. I have a spare set of C5 kook headers which fit perfectly but that's all I have.

My question is how can I duplicate the socket connection you typically find on the kook x-pipe connection point to the headers?

<a href="http://smg.photobucket.com/user/regorih/media/KooksC55_zpsjyfptbls.jpg.html" target="_blank"><img src="http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v219/regorih/KooksC55_zpsjyfptbls.jpg" border="0" alt=" photo KooksC55_zpsjyfptbls.jpg"/></a>

I've searched on google but haven't found any useful information. Any information will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Roger

Thanks, but I want to do them myself since we are doing the exhaust out of aluminum past the headers.

gotcha. you can have an exhaust shop flair the socket for you(we can make them on my bender at work). just need to find flanges, which i couldn't find on short notice. that's why i used the kooks parts.

Can't you just cut the part with the ball **** on it off and go from there with some v-bands or the like?

We could but it's something we want to replicate over and over again using kook headers.

In order to replicate this over and over you would need the tooling.

Can I licence this technology?

Or do you sell the ball and socket connection for custom exhaust?

Kooks headers don't come with a flange on them last I checked. If you buy their y pipe don't they send you to cheesy *** clamps to use with the other side of the piping expanded to slip over?

I'm just rambling about because the very first time I did a v-banded exhaust system.........it became the only way I'll do it.

Seems like you could save yourself a lot of time and money and just weld v-bands to the header.

I have other plans which involve not cutting up the kook headers up. I'll need to stop at a muffler shop
