Default where can you buy 17mm allen wrench locally?

do any local type places sell them? I need one for the coolant plug in the block and would rather not order it off the internet and wait a few days... the local hardware place and sears don't carry it...

any ideas??

If all that fails you can get a 10mm sized bolt w/a 17mm head on it. Put a couple of nuts on it & you have a 17 mm hex.

My son uses those on his 5 Axis CNC machine. As I recall we couldn't find them at Sears or Harbor freight.

Try the SnapOn truck or the other tool truck, whose name I don't recall. I recall the other truck makes a weekly visit to MC Racing. A single one will be pricey. It's cheaper to buy the whole set. Maybe Nick at MC in KC can get him to come by on Monday.

My son decided to get the socket set (1/2) rather than the actual allen wrenches. He keeps breaking them setting the set screws on the CNC machine. The 1/2 inch socket sets are 2 piece. 1/2 inch socket and a straight 1 1/2 or 2 inch allen piece (not as easy to break).

He eventually ordered them from a tool company since SnapOn's were too pricey. Mail order was about $60 for a set which I think went up to 19 MM.

You won't find that size in 3/8 inch.

I used a Mercedes Lug Bolt that has a 17mm head. Welded a nut on the other end and it worked perfectly...
