From the pics I saw in popular mechanics, it almost looked like it was battery powered - can you confirm this?

Any update on this? I'm looking to get this for some small things on the car but don't want to waste the cash.

I have just bought a powder coat gun. It is a no-name one but loks like the one in the craftsman ad. I am going to try it out soon. First I plan on doing my rear brake drums on my OBS Burb, then the front calipers.

First I have to buy the wife a new oven, then I get to old one. Maybe I will have the first ones done by next weekend.

I have the powder gun that eastwood sells, seems to work good.

Oh, and there are lots of places to buy powder from, you don't have to buy the "craftsman" or "eastwood" powders if you're using there guns.

Still no word on the guns yet. We were supposed to get them on our last thursday truck but all we got was the powder. I am stopping by work on my way home from school to see if it is in yet. I was thinking the same thing as most of you, prob wouldnt be great for big things like calipers and wheels but for throttle bodies and small suspension pieces and things like that it might be ideal

We have the guns in stock, they are pretty cheap feeling, and they are not battery powered, they come with an ac adapter. Our sears store has about 10 colors instock. I wanted to get one, but I don't have an oven I can use. Im not about to use it in my kitchen oven.

I saw the pc gun in the Craftsmen club thingy. Its selling for about 129 i think. It looks good but I would have to say that if you are wanting to powder coat something, just spend the money on a good gun. Just my .02.

What about the ad that says, use in a non-food oven? All my home ovens are for food. Why can;t u use a food oven?

u can use any oven, one with a fan like a convection oven works best.
what they mean is if u use the oven for PC, then dont use it again for food.

That is my question; if you use it for PC why can't u re-use it for food?

The coating can't be toxic AND the paint sticks only to the part not the over; right?

I've seen PC guns at harbor freight for like $39.
Whether that's a better or worse grade of cheesy
plastic, power supply and electrostatic needle, I
couldn't say. Looked cheesy enough not to buy
even at $39. I have an oven that never sees
food, too.

I'm sure some pigments are nasty and you might
want to at least clean the oven after, and maybe
do a nice long 500F burn-out beforehand. But as
to why the disclaimer:

"Government of the people, by the lawyers, for the
lawyers".

Did anyone ever do any coating with one of these guns yet? Please post a pic if you have.
