Especially if they didn't tell you about it.

I told them about it, I really didn't want to sell them the car because they wanted to use it as a daily source of transportation. But, they kept bugging me about buying it. I told them what all was wrong with it, including JB Weld and sold it to them. It's still running i'm pretty sure.

Why can't you drive the car without that bolt? Its nothing critical.. I'd probably just drive it over to a friend's place that has a welder, a muffler shop, or a welding job shop. They can weld a nut in there for you in about 2 minutes flat.

Wow! I would've been real skeptical about that jb weld giving out sooner or later, especially while I was driving .

I had a friend of mine come over yesterday and weld the nut back in place. We did have to trim the nut down alittle, but it fits perfectly flush and works! I'll post some pics up later tonight.

heh, I bought a car that someone stripped all the rear bolts to the tranny pan so they JB welded (well, used some kind of grey epoxy) the pan to the tranny and then put the bolts in. first fluid change I removed the crossemember and first wondered why the bolts at the back of the pan just kept turning but not going anywhere, then after I got all the bolts out I found that the pan wasn’t moving no matter what I did.

Did it leak though ? I don't know if I would be mad. I'd probably laugh a little bit and then be mad when I have to pay for the repair.

done that when 4-wheelin !

Default JB weld

I cracked the block on my Troy built tiller at the carb mount. Hit a root and jumped into the tree trunk. Needed a new block or remove all internals and have welded and machined. Both expensive. JB weld-$3. Die grinder with pointy bit to groove out the crack, filled with JB weld, dry overnight, tap out holes where carb bolts go and grind smooth Jb weld in carb intake hole. Has worked great for 3 years. It takes all kinds of vibrations and bouncing around. No problems. Saved a bundle

one thing it is not good for is sealing the fuel wells on a quadrajet carb because the heat / fuel vapor makes it brittle and it eventually flakes off. still I keep it around for the occasional odd job...

I had a slight accedent with the governor on my lawnmower which resulted in the engine overreving, the blade adaptor disintegrating and ripping out the keyway in the crank... ended up cleaning it up, filling it with JBWeld and cutting a new keyway and it's been fine for like 4 years now...
