I plan on a shortened rear by 2" total ( 1" per side)
off-set LCA's

and 18x12 wheels
345/30/18 tires (d/r)
I know I was going to have to minitub but, I am really hoping to keep my hotchkis springs and koni sa.
With this said possiblity leaving stock spring/shock mount?
Yes you would need the spring perches and 2.5" springs because the Wolfe mini tub kit requires you to cut through the OEM spring perch. If you go to the Wolfe web site you will see a pic of this.

thanks man. I appriciate that. Your mini tub looks great dude. Yours is rusty like mine was. It will take some elbow grease to clean that up but it will clean up real nice. I must confess I talked my wife into doing this for me She's a trooper.

thanks Fireball

Awesome write-up! I finally have my kit on the way and should get started in the next week or so. What fuel cell did you end up going with? Also, you wouldn't happen to know what the body shop used to widen the fender? Do you think you could just roll the lip?

Thanks Jon. I have an aluminum fuel cell "tank" in the OEM location and I still use the fill tube, thus leaving the hump in tact.

I believe the body man cut and rolled the lip. Not sure what he did on the plastic portion on the rear of the wheel well. I can't help you there.

Glad someone bumped this. I couldn't quite remember where I had found this thread before. I plan on using this when I start hacking up on my car. I've already got the mini tubs, spring perches, hals, springs, offset LCAs, and some 325/50/15 ET street radials. Just need to get my camaro fixed, some more parts and I can get started.

One key point that I've noticed (which might be common sense) is that if you leave your minitubs unpainted or unoiled for a while they will begin to rust. They're only sheet metal and need to be protected. I've had mine inside for about 3 months now and they've developed some rust. Granted the fact that I live a block away from the beach might have something to do with it.

good job on the tubs and posting the steps it takes

i was going 2 be doing this and then i fount this write up and it made me feel a lil beter about doing it. i was scared about cutting the side of the spring pocket (thats part of the fram rail)

im going with a 20x10" wide wheel but with a 5" bs so i should have around a 5 3/4 - 6"lip on the wheel and i will have 2 narrow the rearend 3"
how much did u narrow the rearend

few questions,
first, if i go to a rear coil over do i need the spring perch?

second if i want to leave factory plastic in with out cuting it, is a mini tub worth it?

thrid if i don't narrow rear end but change back space will that be fine?(reason this way i can have wid track tire, and nice looking street tire)

finaly how big of tire will fit with BFH Mod?
