You can single flare stainless with any old flaring tool...the double flaring is where most tools can't get the job done.

I hope I didnt leave the impression that a single flare would work on a metric bulb. Quit obviously you would need the proper tool to do that.
Trying to double flare stainless is not recommended. To do it you will work harden the stainless and make it brittle. Thats also why you dont want to cut it with a standard old tubing cutter with a cutting wheel. If you do you better file off the end quit a bit and debur before flaring. Preperation for a flare is the key to a perfect flare. I file my tubing square, and debur the ID and OD lightly before flaring.

I bought the biggest Mastercool when it first came out and havent looked back since.
I also do alot of one off lines and repro lines for some GMs from the 60s.
The double flare with the hydraulic is the ****.
I also use the bubble flare for some a/c lines and later model GMs.
My set has so many dies that I have to refresh my memory.
If you call Mastercool and tell them your die index sticker is unreadable
they will send you a nice larger version that you can laminate.
I struggled for years with Snapon, Craftsman,Rigid, double flare tools
until this came along.
Once youve done just one flare you say how come I waited so long.
