I bought the Sears compressors, they worked fine on my Eibach springs. I feel better about them than any Harbor Freight compressors out there. They were $50.

That said, I did go by a local suspension shop to get them to do it, but their compressor was broken. It's well worth it if all they charge is $30 to do the swap. The only 'disadvantage' to having a shop do it - and not doing it yourself - is that I was able to take my time and clean up the shock mounts before I put them on the new shocks. Not sure if a shop will let you get all your stuff clean and spiffy before you have to put it back together.

Nineball posted up a spring compressor that he found on Ebay. He said it worked really well.

pretty cool looking item

I used the Sears spring compressor but I can't say I felt totally safe because I had to hammer them off in order to get them off my hotchkis springs. I have no clue how I will make my next swap.

I used to watch this ricer car show and they had this really cool compressor which was some really strong belts that compressed the sprngs. The hosts even talked about how convenient they were but I was never able to find any info on them.

I rented the Autozone compressor for free. But it requires a 100% refundable deposit. It was a bitch to use though.

i used my wall mounted compressor and the Spring shot out at me. Needless to say i wasn't happy. So i have been loooking for a good solution. I have seen the above compressors in catalogs but never knew anyone with them to try.
