Only 69 ZL1s are to be built. Not sure how many have been completed. They are nice looking rides, I saw a few at this years Hot Rod Power Tour.

Prices are scary

not a great pic of it.. but it does the job.

I just bought myself a nice Black Craftsman 5 drawer rolling chest, stock full of crapsman and harbour freight tools....

The red toolboxes are my dads (he's an automechanic and does some work at home on the weekends), the lift is his too... he's had it in the garage for about 10 years now... sure comes in handy

Well if the deal goes through on my new house I'll have a 3 car garage. Hopefully I can have the roof trusses raised up to make room for a lift. Right now my 2 car garage is too cramped Iv'e doen 3 clutch installs on jackstands in there and it sucked!

Maybe by then I'll have a digital camera and know how to post pics

I feel your pain, man! I used to work in a dirt apartment parking lot back when I was 21. Now I'm 44 and have a three car garage with MIG welder, acetylene torch, drill press, band saw, chop saw, compressor and air tools, 12x36 lathe, three floor jacks and four sets of jack stands of different sizes as well as my own custom welded ramps that are one foot high and one foot wide. Also a large roll around tool chest with 5 times more hand tools than I had when I was 21.

Mine must have been pretty understanding; never said a word to me even after I left a engine and a rear-end sitting in the parking lot for a few weeks!

Thats an awesome setup Mitch! Did you have the building built on your property, or is it away from home? Someday I'll have some nice property and a huge shop with a lift. I can't wait!

It is on my property, next to my home.

The cost of the building was ~$8000 and all the concrete work was ~$8000. If you can weld any at all, you can build one of these shops ... no problem! I could have saved myself ~$3000 if I had done it myself ...

I am on the fence with a lift. While it's definitely a "nice to have" it really eats up the floor space.

Through the shop is my only access to the backyard. If I install a lift, I would have to put it in the middle of the shop in order for the vehicle to clear the sidewalls and the garage door. That would block backyard access.

So ...

It's also a nice place to brew my own beer. The smell is no issue ....

Well I don't have any pic avalable right now (At work) but mine is not as nice as some but it is 31/2 wide 2 deep with 600 sq ft above for storage and a bathroom and I am one acre so plenty of room to grow. Doors at both ends for good air flow have ability to A/C but to much $. I epoxied the floor grey and have all the tools to build a vehicle if needed ( Welder, Torch, Air comp., Jacks ETC...)No lift Yet.
Takes money so I have to buy a little at a time. Nice garages every one.

I had to do work in my parking lot at my apt when I was in college (installed drop spindles on my truck)..landlord never said anything. My house now has a small 1 car garage which is nice to store the car in, but is really too small to work on my car in it, but it stores the car and all of the tools.

We've began to look at new houses, and I've come to the conclusion that I'm only looking at 3 car houses. If we have one built, I'm going to have the 3rd garage built an extra 6 feet deep and with 10 or 12 foot ceilings (have to look at the sizes of a 2 post lift

I wish I could put a lift in mine, but local ordinances prohibit it.

If it doesn't work, simply go to http://community.webshots.com/user/cmntmxr81

They're in my Camaro folder.

Dale, I just noticed your location. Ever been over to Brewer's Restoration & Performance (BRP)? They are one of my project sponsors, in the same town as you. They do all of the Year One project car restorations there.

Never been, didn't even know about them (I lead a sheltered life) (work, work, work). I'll look them up next weekend and see if I can get over there and take a look. I'll take my camera (Sony DSC-S70) and try to get some pics.

Ask for Phil when you visit BRP, tell him I sent you. They sell alot of LS1 conversion stuff and do full restorations and customs. Cool stuff! See their link at the top of this forum.
