Just bought a set for $100 from sears
60lb 3-ton jack from hell (doesn't fit under the car by a mile)
2 3-ton jack stands (ok... so they work...)
1 creeper (works fine)
Decent deal but when this jack blows I'll have a good excuse to buy a good one that will FIT under my car lol.
By the way, is it safe to lift one side of the car at a time (like more than a foot at once?) I can fit the jack under the side behind the front tire but not the front. Could I lift it this way or would it be bad for the frame???

Is your car lowered? I was considering to get this jack (+stands and creeper), but will think twice about it if there isn't enough clearance.
This is one of the few jacks on the Sears site that got excellent reviews.
Thanks.

Sorry to dig this up but for the sake of completeion, no, my car is not lowered enough to make a difference with this jack. I have Konis on the lower perch (3/4" drop) and I have to raise the car at least 2.5" to get this jack under it - even then I gotta manuver it around the air dam. This thing is not very good for low-pro cars. I'd get some make-shift ramps to get the car up at least 3ish inches if you're going to get this jack.

I have the 4,000 lb. model from Sears and use it on my GTO and 5,800 lb Avalanche. It can sneak under five inches. But, even that isn't low enough for the GTO, so I drive it onto some 2" x 8" blocks of wood before doing any work. Wal-mart has some good budget 3,000 lb GM Goodwrench jack stands with flat pads on the base.

I use the Omega Low Profile Jack.

My car is real low and I can just slide the jack under the front bumper to get to the k-member without having to drive the car up on blocks or anything.

I had bought a Craftsman back about 1980 (the green one) and it lasted until 2-3 years ago(woulda lasted longer but dragging it through the dirt at a junkyard did it in)that was good and reliable - next bought a Craftsman jack(3 ton?) and creeper set for 100$ sold creeper for 20$ and its holding up well but its a damn heavy , and hard to use Wifey bought me a alum jack and is OK for the lower car and light duty stuff - lasted 2 years now and i use it almost exclusively- love the lightweight!

DO NOT BUY CRAFTSMAN JACKS!!!!!!!!! I have TWO of them and they are both broke! Last year I bought an aluminum racing jack, MAYBE used it 3 times to take my tires off or whatever, even used the jack stands and took the pressure off of the jack... That one is garbage... Then thinking... well maybe it was just a fluke... Went out and bought a 3 ton craftsman HEAVY DUTY jack about 2 months ago... used it 1 time, used jack stands to release the pressure on the jack... I went out to use it last week... nope... its screwed... BOYCOTT CRAFTSMAN JACKS!!!! THEY ARE DEATH TRAPS! lol

Another craftsman bad story here to. Mine lasted a pretty good while under little to no use. Blew the seal.
Does anyone make an air jack like an airbag lift? How sweet would that be? Throw it up under the car like a frisbee and hook it to the compressor. It would have to be made out of some tough material but damn that would be nice!

I have one of the big black & yellow Craftsman floor
jacks that came with a couple of ratchet stands in
a combo deal. The one with the "speed lift". It's
been fine, works OK even after sitting through a
flood. It's very close on a -1" car, I can do a racing
lift on the one side OK but once those are up on
the Rhino ramps I have to open the door and lift it
a bit to slide under the other side. But I can get
the car up on 4 ramps with it. It's a very heavy
sucker but I don't care about that.
The combo kit on sale was a pretty good deal.

+1. My craftsman "race" jack started leaking badly after about 2 years. I then drained it and filled it with "Hydraulic fluid with sealer" I got from an autoparts store. It stilled leaked for a couple days ... but after some use it finally "sealed" up and has been fine since....
