Home built work bench
The strongest wood bench I ever saw was the kind with the 2 X 4's turned up side by side. Than belt sanded flat.
Costs more, but man it was solid when beating on stuff.
.
its about my belly button, but I am 6'5" good work height for me, probably a bit high for others. I keep a narrow "cart" under it, my air compressor, and 2 stacked storage bins.
The legs are 2 2x4s(they were already nailed together when I found them. The legs around the bottom have a frame that goes on the sides and front. The top has a frame also, and the 4x4s go inside the frames. I also have some beems going up the back of the table that hold a white pegboard.
Total cost
wood -free
Box of coated deck screws $6?
4x8 foot sheet of pegboard $12 I think?
best work bench I have used. It isn't coated just bare ply but not so bad.
