I am going to be building one that folds up to the wall, and doesn't take up a lot of space. It will be a big work bench that won't take up a lot of room, and it makes me put away my tools after use.

By doing this I am able to have space for the riding lawn mower inside the garage.

I was planning on building a bend that folds up to the wall too. It will be a while before I get it done though, I'm closing on the new house tomorrow. Post pics when you get done.

I just bought a whole bunch of 2" square tubing that I'm going to be cutting and welding together for a workbench. Should last me a lifetime.

!.25 " thick 4' x 8' 1.25 " thick steel top, with 8" I beam legs, welded the height adjusters on after the pic... Nothing like a strong workbench you can jump on the corner, and it doesnt budge. 1896 lbs when finished.

At least its not heavy Im thinking of building one similiar to yours. I know what you mean about a sturdy work bench. Nice job. Hope you have alot of friends or a forklift.

And I thought 2" square tubing was overkill. I'm also putting heavy duty industrial 4" casters on the bottom of mine so I can roll it around the garage. I bought enough so I can do a 60"Wx36"Hx36"D.

I have a crane on the back of my pickup for just these things, so, I flipped it, and welded 1000lb 6 inch casters on it, so I could roll it around the shop, and then twist the adjusters to take the weight off the wheels, and level the table.

It's about the most usefull thing I have ever made... Now im working on a 32' gooseneck two car hauler....

If you look I have three 2x4 braces at a 45 degree angle that support the 5 2x8s that are bolted down. This leaves plenty of space to collect crap underneath as well as park my John Deere under it as well in between the two cars.

As you can see, I still don't have tops for the bench, so everything is strategically set on the 2x4s..haha I'll finish it one day. It will also have shelves under neath, and I left an open spot for stools to sit near the bench. It is 12' long on the long side, 8 on the other.

I can still easily fit my Camaro and another car in the garage.(but in the pics the Z28 is more towards the center)

Got the keys to the house and need to do some measuring. Before I build it I need to account for another car being in there in a few years.......

Any more pics? I want to build a small bench to fit a grinder and vice and still have a little working space. I can't fit much in my shortened 1-car garage.
