Default Best 3 jaw puller for removig crank sprocket??

I`m installing a Rollmaster timing set and I need a 3 jaw puller to remove the stock crank sprocket. Do you guys know a P/N or other wise? Thanks.

Just the OEM brand from Autozone will work fine. You could go real fancy though and get the Sears model, but it's almost twice the price where the auto zone puller will work just fine.

Thanks for the reply. I used the smaller of the two Auto Zone pullers to get the pulley off but it didn`t have the reach needed to grab the crank sprocket. Do I need the larger of the two?

Yeah, you're going to need the big boy to get out the crank sprocket. I've got to say this though, it can be a real PITA to get out because the jaws will love to jump off the sprocket. It really helps to have a buddy hold the jaws together around the sprocket while you crank down on the puller and get it nice and tight. After that it should stay on.

They also make a specalized puller for the LS1. I wish I had used it. One of the tabs on my pulley broke off when I was swapping my oil pump. Almost took my eye out. Anyway

OTC 6267
this puller is the best, grabs the best and most compact.

edit: didnt read very well up top, this puller is for the pulley not the sprocket.

The proper tool is Kent-Moore part number J-41558. It costs about $50.

from autozone...ive broken 3 of the "standard" ones they give you...broken them using them 100% properly, so has my mechanic friend. then i went to return it to get yet another and they were out and he asked me if i wanted a stronger one, of course i said yes. he comes out with this mamoth 5 ton pulley remover. barely fit, in a good way, strong *** piece. i was very impressed. just an fyi.
