Biggest MIG for an 110 outlet?
One thing I will stress.....Do not run it on a regular 14 gauge extension cord. If you can't plug it in to the wall directly, make yourself a 8 gauge extension cord. If not, the weld quality is crap!
The older Lincolns (weldpacks and SP’s) are very sensitive to things like long or too small a gauge extension chord (the welding power sort of “bounces” when you start welding), and the SP’s had literally the crappiest wire feed setup on the market, it was like some sort of rube Goldberg contraption.
OTOH, the Power Mig 140 I would highly recommend, they fixed all of the things that I didn’t like about the old ones, they basically turned it into a red Hobart handler. The Hobart Handlers are all nice, new and old models, there are slight differences, and you’ll be fine with a either an old 135 or a new 140. The millers are good machines (a lot of the miller/Hobart parts interchange, they’re the same company, my Hobart came with a miller logo on the mig gun handle). Miller makes a nice welder, in general, it sort of gets all the premium miller/Hobart parts, but for the most part the extras over a comparable Hobart don’t really add any functionality and a lot of people feel that Miller’s wire speed tracking is too aggressive and find it confusing to set (of course, there new autoset welders supposedly fix that, I haven’t used one yet)
