I could never find one to rent. I ended up buying one for $200. I think harbor freight is a bit cheaper or if you see those generic tool sales at the fire halls.

Why not post in the regional section and ask if anyone can loan you one? I bought one for $150 from Pep Boys and it has folding wheels/legs so it's compact when I'm not using it.

I checked all the local auto stores in my area with no luck . Though when I checked with rental places that rent construction equipment and related heavy machinary I was able to find on e. They let me rent one for $30 on a Saturday and were not opne on Sunday so told me just to bring it back ealry on Monday no extra charge .

I know where I live you can rent them for about 40-50 for the day but you can also buy a 2 ton that folds with a built in engine stand for like 200 or so. I might be opting for one of these but in my case the bastard would be just taking up space since I wouldn't be using it much. I will be buildin myself a nice tool/storage shed for the backyard to get some stuff out of the garage to make room for that or either a two post lift For a finished garage I have 12'' from top to bottom, lots of room and well worth the coin IMO!
