New LS1Tech Banner
I really like the 2nd one out of what I've seen. Granted I haven't gone through the whole thread. I never liked the top banner that was created... screams 1998 design, which I've talked about in the past.
There is so much wrong with this post that I have no idea where to begin. First, it comes off as very belittling, which I personally feel is very shitty considering you are a mod of this forum. However, since the founder of this forum has the same way about his posts, it does not surprise me.
Let me tell you about this thread. This thread has ratios. Ratio of the total percentage of people who have viewed this thread/idea. Ratio of those people who decided it was important enough to post in said thread. Ratio of those people who posted positive opinions. Even though those may not be important to you, you don't own or run this website and never will. Anyone who DOES own or run a website like this would realize the merit of these ratios, instead of blow off the "300 measly votes."
I honestly think that the BULK of the viewers/posters of LS1tech honestly don't give a **** about the banner. LS1tech is a brand, and you don't want to change a trademark item like your front page's banner. THAT is why it hasn't changed. But thanks for making us feel shitty today phantom.

You can change a banner and keep the 'brand' noticeable by using the same logo, which if you browse some of the IB comments, they are sure to mention all submissions must have the original logo.
The bottom line here is that, ultimately, IB will change the logo if and when they find something they like, which it looks like Robb has been working on. You acknowledge that it's a delicate procedure to keep the brand recognition, so why you expect this to happen when you see fit is beyond me. Try to not twist up your panties next time someone replies with something you don't agree with.
I see the banner for maybe a second each time I sign on. Is it really worth all the effort for each person to see the banner for about 1 second each time they sign on before they starting scrolling to the forum they want?

First of all, I'm not speaking on behalf of anyone but me. My views. I never said anything along the lines of "This is why they won't do it". You, however, talk about ratios and posting. There are exactly 281 posts in this thread before mine. If this thread has been up for at least 365 days, which you said it has; I didn't check, then this thread has had 1 post a day. 1 measly stinking post in this thread once a day. Does that *scream* excitement and desire for change? My initial post was not me being a dick at all, just trying to give some food for thought. If you took that like a dick, then I don't know what to say to you. Don't speak for the userbase when the userbase is clearly stating they don't give a **** one way or the other. The people who are voting in this thread are clearly passionate about the forum, which is absolutely great, but that isn't indicative of the ENTIRE userbase or the ownership. If IB was interested in everyone's opinion, I would imagine they would post something up about it in an announcement, or one of those post ads they do at the tops of the forums every once and a while.

IF announcements were made in each section, and they as a combined unit got 1 response a day then your argument might be somewhat valid.
Being that we are speaking of about a section that has one of the lowest traffic amounts on the entire webpage makes your rebuttal not worth the paper it is written on. It makes no sense. Surely I don't have IDIOT written across my forehead do I?

my vote is still that it should be changed. the problem isnt the ls1tech.com logo thats fine.
its the tired image of the 2010 that was drawn up years and years ago. brand recognition will not be a problem at all if the l1tech.com logo is kept the same(which it should). if you could get some real images up there that make this site look current and not so bland and blah then i think it cant go anywhere but up.

The second banner on the first page gets my vote. It has the 4 main cars that GM shoved a LS1 into. Seeing the ugly little fake red camaro up there is boring. Spice this place up.
