What cam is this ?

Well, it's a Comp Cam, but I can't find that lobe profile anywhere in their (online) master catalog. http://www.compcams.com/Technical/Ca...terCatalog.pdf If you scroll down to the last pages of the catalog, they have all their lobes listed in a lobe index. Yours (2870) should be listed on page 162, but isn't. I do know (for a fact) that they have lobe profiles that aren't listed in their catalog. I'd give them a call, I'm sure they'll be able to help you.

here's an idea, grab a sheet of tracing paper and put over that area of the cam and use a piece of black chalk and trace over the areas that are scribed on the cam and see if if you're able to get more lettering out of it.
edit-do it top and bottom because I barely see some lettering on the bottom portion of the cam.

If I had to guess. I'm going 240/240 .588/.588. 2870h seems to be the core I've seen it from many cam vendors and the only Ls hydraulic roller lobe comp offers that ends with 53 is the specs I just listed.
