Default NEW: LS1Tech buyer/seller feedback!

LS1Tech is proud to announce the addition of an integrated "eBay-like" trader rating and feedback system! In addition to this forum, we strongly encourage everyone to make use of this fast-and-easy method of leaving feedback any time you buy or sell something on this forum. The benefits of such a system likely don't need to be sold on all of you folks

When leaving feedback, you must also include a link to the thread where the transaction took place. If you bought something from one of our sponsors, simply enter their website URL, unless it was from a group purchase. In that case, please copy/paste the link to the GP thread here on LS1Tech. That way when people look at a trader rating, they can quickly refer back to where the sale took place. I'm going to work on having a button show up in all the classified forum threads, as well as the group purchase threads so this information can be filled in for you (but its not there yet).

Please take the time to go back and fill in some feedback for any of your recent transactions on LS1Tech.

Seems kind of useless to me. Am I the only one who thinks this?
To me this forum is here to help people and to get help from people, I'd find it useful to have a rating that shows how well you've helped people out.
Or maybe Just an overall rating with more options like buyer/seller/tech help/advice giver whatever.

You're probably going to be in the minority, based on how many feedback have already been entered and the steady positive comments I've received thus far

Have you looked at the volume of traffic in the classifieds forums, and then looked at the volume of traffic in the buyer/seller feedback forum? Weeding through the feedback there could become quite tedious, when looking at a trader rating right under the person's name will tell a quick story on that person's history -- and the full detail is but a click away. If you don't want to use it, that's obviously your option. Nobody is forcing its use or acceptance, but I get a feeling people will be pleased its there.

Well this sucks on my part as I've probably completed over 100 transactions here on this board ranging from $5-$3800. I've sold probably 20 items in the last month in which the buyers stated they would leave positive feedback, but I have yet to see anything posted. I can't even recall a single thread made for me posting a great transaction. I have yet to have a single transaction go sour. It would take too much of my time to go back and find every single person that I've dealt with and have them leave me a good word, muchless them remember buying from me. I sell parts on this forum board left and right and if this system would have gone into affect when I started selling, I'd have a 100+ positive score. Anyhow, not whining or anything, but how do you suppose we get credit for previous transactions? The only parts I have left for sale at the moment are stock ones and I dont see them moving any time soon. Dont get me wrong, I sell stock parts from time to time, but not as quickly as I would aftermarket parts as there is a much higher demand for them. Anyhow, I think its probably going to be a great system however, its just a bit too late for members who have been on this board for quite some time. I've been a member since 2002. I know my current user name only shows 2003, but I had a couple user names before this one. I also see how this system can be abused as well, but thats a whole 'nother story. Just my opinion.

You say you must post a link to the thread... what if there is no thread for the item you bought or someone bought off of you.

I like the system...much easier to find out about a buyer/seller than trying to search out old threads...nice work, Brains!

if there's no thread how did the buyer know that something was for sale?

- jxaxsxoxn; if you spend any amount of time here you can generally tell who knows what and who'd just full of ****. there doesnt need to be a rating systme for that.

and i would say sticky this thread brian but that means views will automatically drop off 80%

Check out this guy's feedback today, it's for sales from four and a half months ago: https://ls1tech.com/forums/traderratings.php?u=12177
You could go back and enter feedback yourself for your previous 100+ transactions with those people, and then it's likely that some of them will do the same in return for you. If everyone takes the attitude of 'can't bother to find the time', though, nobody will be getting much of their feedback from prior sales. Even if you don't get find/do all of them, some is better than none!

There are MANY ways. Lets say I mention that I am going to replace my cam with a new cam. I dont post the old one up for sale but someone PM's me asking if he/she can buy it as soon as it is replaced.

Also I have some items up for sale on my site. Members on here can find something they want them PM me using LS1tech.

Finally people post wanted ads and get can get several PM's without having anyone post replies in the original thread.

All three have happened to me... this week. I'd say it makes more sense to post up a thread only if it is avaliable.

Ferocity: In those instances, its tough because like on eBay, people get to see the item that was for sale -- and it helps build the traders' reputation.

Then again, you can only see items that were sold semi-recently as well. I guess if you absolutely do not have a link to a thread on 'tech, just put in the link as www.ls1tech.com and explain it in your comment.

good job. i remember seeing this one another site, i think srtforums maybe, and thought it was a good idea. and as long as you need to prove you had a transaction with the person, it will work out nicely good job.

I don't see the importance of this, as being what has happened a couple of years ago, but as what is taking place now. We all know things, and people, can change. Personally,,,I think it will serve not only to aid in informing other members of your transaction history, but serve also as incentive for some who are a bit dilitary in their transactions, to step up to the plate and process them in a prompt, curteous, manor. I like it. JMO.

Thanks Brains

Nice job Brains. I like this system more than the other user ratings that were in place. That just seems like a waste of time IMO.
