I registered when I got my first F-body, but that got totalled less than a year later before I could get into modding it. When I bought my second F-body, I got much more active.

However, even though I no longer own an LS1 for now, this is still the site I spend the most time on.

I remember being on LS1 when "the **** hit the fan", only the AAG supporters stayed behind. As you can see I moved over here right away as well. Anybody recall how the first LS1Tech forum layout looked?

It didnt help that ls1.com lost all their historical threads. There was a hell of a lot of good info on there. Got all blown away... left ls1tech as the holder of the biggest database.
Im sure the good gents here are more familiar with Mr Backup as a result.

Back when I joined it was common knowledge that ls1.com was for talking and LS1tech was for modding.

I joined LS1.com by chance somewhere at the end of 98 when I bought my then new 99 Firehawk. I had NO idea where to go to learn about my car at all. So I guessed! I typed in www.ls1.com and bam up came an LS1 site. I remember learning absoloutly nothing at all really from that site. Except that AAG was full of goofy **** and some girl named Hot Formula Chick was a ****.

I got the link to LS1Tech off of LS1.com by someone who was pissed off. I jumped over and never went back. I've learned so much information about my car and how to modify it. Honestly over at LS1.com I NEVER even thought about modifying my car. As soon as I got over here I learned about how many different things I could do to my car and how it would affect it and how to install it all too. You couldn't ask for more. That and most of the information on this site can be applied to any car really. It's LS1 specific but I think alot of people gain alot of knowledge from it that isn't LS1 specific.

At the time LS1.com crashed, we were already much larger than they were. Also, most of the technical threads from the early days were from our group here, before we jumped over.

the same thing happened to me. I was on ls1.com all the time, I did come here and read stuff but didnt register. Now when ls1 went down big a few years ago I finally registered here and I love this site way more than ls1.com. Much more technical stuff and tons more poeple that know their ****. I have learned just about everything about these cars on this site.

LS1Tech FTW!!!!

WOW what a cool story! 30 million hits a day all.... unreal

This is indeed a great site. I would NEVER have attempted swapping an LS1 without the info and support available here. Not to mention I've bought loads of things here and sold some too. I was even involved in the oh so controversial 8.8 development and was given elbow room to feel out the market. Overall the attitude and feel of this site is on a level of respect and professionalism that I dont think any other site I have visited has.

My hat goes off to all you admins and mods thanks

I too remember the mass exodus of all the non-children for 'the other site'. I remember finding out that one morning a bunch of admins were demoted. An e-riot ensued at some point, then I found myself standing at the gates of LS1Tech.

I go over there when I need a good laugh. It's like a train wreck, you can't stare but you don't want to look away.

This site has a wealth of knowledge, and I'm hoping to be able to add more to it. I like to see people find the information they need, as finding answers is sometimes very tedious.

+1 for this site. I'm just hoping that we get another couple of search servers, because it's getting weird again.
