Default Site Speed - Feedback Thread

Please give us some feedback in this thread. Tell us when the site is hauling ***, and when it is unreasonably slow. We are gauging the time frames of each. We have done some tuning this morning and the site seems very quick for me today.

Thanks
Tony

I've definitely noticed the site is moving faster today. I've been checking the site every 15-30min since I got up this morning and there really haven't been any slow times for me at all. Excellent!

Since the 4-5 changes we made the site has been markedly and consistently faster for me. Right now I'd say the site is 95% as fast as it's ever been, just having occasional spikes of activity that will hold it up here and there.

Please keep responding.

I just did a search for the word "the" in all forums in all post and it was kinda slow with that.

Just kidding. The site has been decent today but, not the fastest I've ever noticed. Most pages are only taking a couple of seconds to load it seems like which is not bad.

I get the Main Index real quick, a forum category quick, but it takes quite some time before it pulls up a thread after I click it.
I get the same thing, the main page comes up fast, sometimes the section a bit slower, but sometimes I sit 20-30 seconds for the thread to even open up. I'm not on dialup or anything so I don't think it's my internet connection, but it is a firewalled frame relay pile of poo so that may not be helping

It's weird. In a 30 minute time frame, I may have 5 pages that load immediately, 20 pages that load very slow and 5 pages that never load (404 error). It seems random. It is waaaay slower than the old software for me now and changing the number of posts to display had no effect. It was set to "forum default" before, now it is "two weeks".

It took my just under a minute to load this thread, and I'm on cable on a very high end computer. I guess it is peak hours though. It seems it's always this slow though. The changes may have made it a little faster, because I would click on a thread and then go get a drink or something, that took 2 minutes or so. Oh well, lets see how long it takes to post this.

I think some of you are giving too much credit to the old software. I've run speed tests on both softwares since the beginning of this site, and the old software was acting much slower than this one is today.

I remember the last software would take like 15 seconds to pull up a reply window, and then it would sometimes take 2 minutes to actually get sent thru.

By the way, my last reply took 2 seconds for the reply window. 1 second for the "message sent" screen. 8 seconds for the original thread screen to return.

Thats flying. I'm on DSL

The speed seems up to par some of the time.Depends on the time of the day. Right now it seems good. Something still isn't right though.

I agree something still isn't right. There is no way that you can check a thread, every page opens within 2 seconds, then go back to that same thread one minute later and it takes 2 minutes to load each page.

I'm on DSL. During the middle of the day it takes about 20-30 secs to load a page. Just now (10 PM) each page takes about a minute and a half or longer. LS1.com forum pages usually load in 10 secs or less for me unless of course you get the dreaded sever busy page. I've also adjusted the 'aged threads to be displayed' in my settings. Well I'm gonna while this tries to post :p The layout is definently growing on me though.
