What about the paying sponsors? I know how much they pay per quarter, and I would be pissed too see these new ads. Like this one for example: http://www.carolinaclutch.com/

You're telling me they are a paying sponsor, just like Speed Inc or FLT? If not, that link should be removed, along with these:

http://www.eastcoastvette.com/index.html
http://www.corvettedollar.com/?cid=3...FQyIPgodPWt4ow
http://www.usspeedonline.com/page/U/...ird+Floor+Mats
http://www.whypaysticker.com/track.php?c=18904473

And there are more and more in every thread you go into. Tell me that is not fair. I am not telling you guys how to run the site, I am giving you feedback on the site. I have been on here since '02 myself, and seen the ups and downs throughout those 5 years, and think this is a down.

Matt, we haven't had time yet to write the url filters. With Google ads, we can actually block ads from websites that we do not want shown. This will take some time, we are working on that list.

Please don't assume we are not going to look after the interests of direct paying vendors, you should know better than that.

I know, but people these days never seize to amaze me. I just thought that yous guys were going a different route with the ads and sponsors and wanted to know what was going on. I look forward to seeing the changes in the upcomg weeks. I would be more than willing to pay a membership fee for a top notch site.

Um, that sounds good, but you would seriously be working for the rest of your life to filter all the "bad" ads out of Google Ads. Anyone who would make such a statement obviously does not know how Google Ads works. And knowing how long it has taken the site's search feature to function again, I doubt anyone would be willing to put the effort in to script the necessary code.

And I don't have to assume that you are not looking after the intrests of your site's sponsors. You have already proven that you are not by placing these ads in direct opposition to your own stated site rules and policies.

There are SEVERAL exceptionally large forums(bigger than us) that have premier accounts that cost $$ every year. There are far more people on some of these sites that buy those accounts, than do not. CorvetteForum has a contributing member status, which the perks of which I am not familiar with, but I am sure there are some. Also, AR15.com has a team member account status, which comes in varying levels and correspondingly have more and more priveledges associated with it. Considering how often you use this site, would you pay $2 a month to have twice the PM capacity, a slightly larger avatar, and a private "members only" forum? Maybe enhanced search functionality?

I think many people would.

Thanks for playing, but last time I checked, your name wasn't red, and you didn't own this place. If you dislike the new changes that much, I'm sure any number of the other "prestigious" LSX sites would love to have you be a contributing member. We appreciate constructive feedback, but at this point, you're just whining about something that really doesn't even affect you.

However, if you're going to stick around here, deal with it. You're not a paying sponsor, so how about you let the paying sponsors raise these issues? I can garauntee you that if they don't like it, they WILL make it known. Just because you don't see a discussion occuring, does not mean it does not exist.

I would! Some other forums I've seen allow 'paying' members to have custom user titles as well.

Ironically, Howeird did inquire about getting his name in green. After his know-it-all comments here, I'd have to say his name just went to the bottom of the candidate list. I see nothing constructive about his comments, he knows absolutely nothing about what is going on behind our scenes and is making negative assumptions.

I was surprised when I saw it at first. But its really not that big of a deal. Some of you need to chill out. This site is huge and has a vast amount of info for FREE! If you want to bitch about ads I think its a SMALL price to pay for the benefits of this site.

As for enhanced search functionality. That might be worth $2 a month to me.

I was ready to pay the day I signed up for this site. I try to buy everything for my car from sponsor(s) which is difficult with the budget I am on. The search feature is the biggest thing that I use. I'm not here to comment on whether these ads are right or wrong, I just wanted to add my name to the list of people who would pay a monthly/yearly fee.

Coinsidering how much money this site makes off sponsors and now the google adds i would stop coming here all together if they started doing that...

I agree with the not bitching for info, lots of GM mechanics and sorts here that can get you info that you would otherwise have to pay for IE Hayes, Chilton's, Alldata, VIN searches from the dealer... the list goes on and on. I would be willing to pay for access to this site as well. Because I'm sure I'll need the expertise of someone more familiar with F-bods than me in the near future with my car. I am very mechanically inclined and just need direction from time to time. +1 for the sponsors that help keep this site alive and to all of the mods for dedicating time to the upkeep and running of this site.
