sound to me like 01-02 piston slap. My pops has a 02 SS vert and it does it too. We got it with 3k miles on it, and it has 78,000 now. It did it at 3000 miles, and it still does it on cold start. It makes a tiny bit of noise warm too. Never had a problem, its all stock still. I bet its one of the few 02 SS SE cars nearing 100,000 miles lol

Yeah I'm thinking it's a little piston slap with a little GM valvetrain noise (sewing machine).

my 00 z28 dosent make a sound with 100k and i beat on it hard ! it's my hot rod has a 250 bump on a all stock motor .
