2001 Black 6spd Trans-Am 44k Cheap !!!!
Ive got a 2001 black on black Trans-Am 6spd t-tops . It has black leather interior, the car only has 44k miles and runs great. I changed the Lifters hopping that it was the problem with a set of gm LS7 lifters it did not fix the problem. While everything was apart I looked at the cam and the pistons to see if I could find any damage and I could not find anything. The car does not leak 1 drop of oil nor does it burn any either. I have driven it for 9k miles now with no codes comming up or any problems with the car its loud when it first starts up and its very faint when the motor is warm. The main reason I haven't put my parts on and fixed it is because I am a full-time college student and full-time work and I dont want to have alot of money tied up in a car. It runs great no misses or anything of the sort... Everyone tells me its just piston slap... $9100 open to trades

Here's a possible trade for you. 1981 Pro-street Camaro, Forged 402 BBC, TCI 350 tranny, TCI 9.5" 3200 stall, 3.73 gears, "cow track" suspension with wheelie bars.
Cruise Night award winner, but not "World of Wheels" show quality. Drove it in stop and go traffic 2 hrs each way to and from "Cruisin' the Coast" in MS.

I have never heard this car and I am not saying anything bad about the OP..
But I believe he is WAY over reacting and think it is normal valve train noise that almost all ls1s are cursed with.
Anybody thinking about this car should buy it! Don't think about it, BUY IT!
OP, have you tried running a thicker oil?

True
I have owned several ls1 cars and they all have had some sort of valve train noise, sounds kinda like a stuck lifter, but it's not..it's pretty normal for the older ls1's
no worries
