FS/FT 1998 Firebird Formula WS6 1LE(1 of 14) - Sold
Year: 1998
Make: Pontiac
Model: Firebird
Price: $7500
Mileage: 98000
Private or Dealer Listing: Private Listing
Location (State): CA
Color: Black
Transmission: Manual
Drivetrain: Rear Wheel Drive
LS Engine?: Car has LS engine
The car: 1998 Pontiac Firebird Formula WS6 1LE. This car is 1 of 14 produced in 1998, thus making it extremely rare!
The car has 98,xxx miles on it, with under 3k on the new set of heads.
I paid about 14,000 for this car several years ago, since then it has seen about 10k in mods. Most stock parts I still have sitting in the garage. So I'm hoping to get atleast what I paid for the car. But I am open to trades for wrx or a prius.
$ 7,500 OBO
She's not exactly stock...
The list of Mods go as follows:
She made 460 HP to the tires with the stage 1 ls6 heads by PRC, since then I've put stage 2.5, 5.3L PRC heads on, the car seems to have gained a decent amount of midrange toque since then and has been retuned!
PRC stage 2.5, 5.3L CNC heads(GM MLS gaskets),
Texas Speed MS3 cam
Ls7 lifters,
Texas speed Hardened Chromoly pushrods,
Texas speed ls2(or double roller can't remember) timing chain,
Texas speed high volume ported ls6 oil pump,
LS6 intake,
!air delete,
Kooks long tube headers,
!cat delete,
Zo6 clutch kit, (needs a new master cylinder, shifting @ 6400 rpms makes the clutch pedal sluggish and was to stick to the floor after a 1st-through-4th pass)
Stock read end,
Stock suspension, which includes stiffer sway bars, bushings, and of course the amazing Koni Dual Adjustable shocks.
18' black zo6 wheels, also have a spare set of 02 ws6 "speedlights",
I've gotten up to about 22 mpg on mostly highway driving, with city driving usually closer to 12-13 mpg, and going below that if you have a lead foot.
Due to california regulations, the car currently has 2 12' chambered mufflers in place of the cats, a 26' bullet in the I pipe, and a magnaflow 1-into-2 muffler out back. It's proven hard to quiet this thing down...
The issues with the car,
Shes not a garage queen, she needs some love. More than I have time to give with the newborn and work!
The master/slave cylinder for the clutch need to be checked/replaced, WoT runs shifting @ 6400-6500 rpms wont let you into 5th gear(why would you ever need to @ 140+ mph). The clutch has never slipped and the pedal problem should be solved easily.
The transmission was rebuilt right before I purchased the car, and somehow the 5th-6th gear key or synchro was damaged. Basically what happens is you have to let the rpms drop back down to an idle before shifting into them or it will grind. I planned on taking care of this along with putting a textralia clutch in but due to a recent change in events, I've got to sell for the baby on the way!
There is a dent right above the drivers side rear wheel, someone bumped into the car in a parking lot and never bothered to leave a note. Looks like it can be pulled out easily.
Windshield just cracked when I was washing the car.
Please feel free to ask any questions. I'm open to realistic offers and trades.
-Mark
Update - Photos added
^^ Course they have to hit my parked car and drive away without a note^^

nice car, i have been looking for a local one of these for a little while now. PM me if/when you need to sell it or if you go down in price. I am not low balling you or bashing your price just letting you know more of what i have to spend because i would want to get the transmission fixed also and right now the car + transmission/slave fix is out of my price range.

Thanks man, got 5 people that are "very interested" yet they haven't made it to see the car yet. My bet is the first one that sees/drives this thing is going to leave with it. It's an awesome car!

I took one ride in my WS6 and thats all it took for me to buy it. Insanely CHEAP price for this car + mods and the production number...RARE! If there were only 14LE cars in '98, break it down even more by color, tranny, etc and I bet this is maybe 1 in handful. Small issues aside, good luck with sale, bummer you have to sell
