LS Engine?: Car has other engine

Lets try this again...

My cousin Zach is looking to trade his 1986 Buick Grand National for an LS1 TA. He has already been offered a mint 1996 Vette and a very clean 2004 GTO for this car from someone who knows Grand Nationals inside and out. He's asking $10k for it outright but it has over $6k in new parts from Cottons Performance.

Forged pistons
Turbo Tweeks chip
Turbonetics 61mm ball bearing turbo
Precision intercooler
Cottons custom cold air
Fully built 2004R with 3200 stall

The interior was recently redone in the factory colors and it has new carpets also. The car will come with a new set of doors because the factory doors are showing signs of rust (typical with these cars). The car has a few dings but nothing major. He tracked down the power robbing problem he is having with this car (blown intake gasket) and is in the process of fixing that. Hopefully we will see some decent times from this car in the next month.

This crap is really pissing me off. You don't think the car is worth $10 you're an idiot. Find one better for $10k and PM me the link...I've been looking all over the place for one and you won't find it. This is a 75k mile car with very clean interior, an extra set of doors and $6k in new parts including a forged short block. If he cleaned it up under the hood (he lives on a gravel road) and installed the new doors and had it painted it would be worth $15k.

Although I guess I can't complain, mine isn't HA anymore
In all honesty, I don't think I could part with it either way. I love driving it too much!

I dont hate hot air cars...there just not worth what a 86-87 is. We just sold this 85 GN:
https://ls1tech.com/forums/multimedi...not-stock.html

Now we have a show quality 86 GN with 27K miles and working on a trade for a nice driver quality 87 GN.

The only point I was proving was that if you're looking for a GN under $10k, there's plenty out there.

If your cousin wants to sell his GN on the internet for $10k, pics of it clean are the only way he's going to get serious offers. In the pics, the paint looks like crap, the motor shot needs less wires randomly running around, and if I'm not mistaken there is no passenger side mirror.

I definately agree he needs to clean it up and take some better pics. The motor pics are before he pulled the motor and dropped in the forged pistons. The missing side mirror isn't really a big deal and can be replaced cheap. You are right there are plenty under $10k but not with the parts he has added. If he spent another $1000 bucks on it he could get another $4k out of it...in the end it's not mine so to each their own.
