I have been driving the car around a lot lately trying to decide if I want to keep it or not and noticed the transmission is starting to refuse the 2-3 shift at WOT. I am assuming it is the 3-4 clutch pack and "may" be time for a rebuild. I really do not want to put any more money into the car, so I am adjusting the price accordingly. Drivability is still great, in fact I still take it to work twice a week. The tranny also is fine in all other regards and drives fine (WOT on 1-2, or 3rd is fine as well). I also just added a brand new K&N filter and SLP lid. I take pride in being an honest seller, so I wanted to immediately disclose this information. It is a wonderful car, but I just don't have the passion for it I once did.
After over four years of ownership I am putting up for sale my 2001 SOM TA. I bought the car from a Marine on this forum who maintained the vehicle very well . I used the car primarily as a "street car" with the occasional trip to the track. The main reason I am selling is simply the fact that I don't drive the car much at all. I've put less than 2000 miles on it over the last two years, with most of my seat time coming from starting the car and driving it around the block. It currently has a 408 LS2 in it with around 1500 miles. It was built as a very light-weight, fast revving NA combo- so we utilized LS7 rods and crank. The car runs very strong, and feels great from any gear. In fact it has always run very hard for the +3000ft DA we have here in Las Vegas, putting up an 11.56 @ 118 with just the H/C (430rwhp). The car now has a 408 LS2 in it putting down 475rwhp through the LS6 mainfold and PRC 5.3 heads (an intake swap alone would put this car over 500rwhp). I'd imagine at any track near sea level this car would easily break into the 10's as it sits today.
The vehicle is in good shape considering the body's mileage, with a few hood chips and small scratches on the lower bumper. It has no leaks and does not throw any codes.
The engine has around 1500 miles, with the heads and other performance parts with approximately 4500 miles

Please feel free to ask any questions regarding the vehicle, as I am an honest person and believe in full disclosure. Additionally, my father and I were once victim to someone selling a car online, and ending up driving home 1200 miles with the oil pressure dropping to 5 PSI (that was a rough experience). Anyway, my point being I would never put someone else in that position and believe in selling with honesty and integrity.
As shown in the thread title, my asking price is $6,500 obo. I feel this is very fair given that the engine alone cost over $10,000. I have receipts and documentation for all work done as well. I have no interest in trades.
Thank you for your interest.
