Overall, I would give the body and paint a 7 out of 10, for its age. It is not perfect, but it is very straight and at nearly 25 years old, it is a lot cleaner than a lot of these older Z’s I have seen. We had the interior redone, with new seat covers and suede on the door panels and dash. It is a very smooth, quiet running car.
The chassis has 102,000 miles on it, and the engine out of a ’99 TA has close to the same miles. It starts perfectly fine and does not smoke. The transmission shifts perfectly.
A couple of things that might need to be fixed to make this a 100% enjoyable, everyday driver would be as follows:
-I never got the AC hooked up. I have mostly all of the components for the AC and the wiring is there for it, but I never got around to getting it installed.
-The front windshield wipers do not work, not sure why – never checked into it after the swap was done.
-It could stand to have some carpet padding installed and the shifter boot sealed up, to keep out exhaust fumes.
-Driver side front wheel has curb rash.
-All of the factory gauges and heater, radio, etc. etc. work – except the speedometer and tach. Pretty simple fix for someone that has a little more experience in that field.
I do have multiple sets of 300ZX wheels (like 2 or 3 extra sets – one of them being a twin turbo set), as well as an extra Nizmo rear diff. We have owned the car since 2010, so there is a fair amount of things and extra parts I am missing, but it is a very well done swap and a solid running car. With a nice cam and heads swap, the car would be an absolute blast. I am asking $10,500 OBO and please no trades.
