Very nice car at a very good price.
HP is not underrated though. The only difference between WS6 and baseline T/A is WS6 has a different suspension/shock setup, and a different intake/intake mani. Some also got the LS6 heads.
Stock Baseline makes 300-310. Stock WS6 makes 315-330 to the wheels. Automatic's tend to do about 3-5% less RWHP than the M6's too.

Dude nothing you have said is true at all... Please do a search before you open your mouth... The WS6 did NOT get a different intake manifold, they got a little bit different airbox, and no LS1 f-body ever came with LS6 heads stock. Some 01's and 02's got a LS6 block not just ws6'S ABOUT 15% IN 01 got them and in 02 about 25% got them the block adds no HP... Bump for a nice car.............
a lil harsh, but true
Joey, the ws6 did come with a different air box setup, but all 01-02s came with the LS6 intake manifold, not just ws6 cars. also, you may be confusing LS6 heads with LS6 block, because a number of 02s did come with an LS6 block. No LS1 ever came with LS6 heads. WS6 cars did get a more free flowing muffler as well. Basically, the rest is cosmetic and suspension.

Also, to the original poster, you might wanna add to your post any prior mods done to the car. It doesnt matter if you have taken it back to stock, it isnt stock once its been modded. Not trying to start a mess, but when you can see headers plain as day, it looks a little funny that you are calling the car stock. My point is, the car could have had a cam in it, and people like to know that up front when considering a vehicle. It makes many people think twice about purchasing a car that has had major mods done, like heads/cam or something of the sort. Im not saying your car has, but its better to be up front about that in the beginning so you dont look shady when people start to ask about the headers and stuff. Beautiful car by the way, I have the same car in an M6. I know you will miss her, but good luck to ya

Ok so I got the block/intake mani confused on the car. I coulda sworn someone said some came with LS6 heads... Anyways REGARDLDESS his original post claims theyre underrated and make 350-375 HP stock.... Umm... Please explain that.

Wow, there's an entire debate going on here lol. Ok Car is now stock except for Magnaflow Muffler. It did have bolt-ons before including headers, exhaust, air lid, ported MAF, lowering springs, shocks etc. Those are now gone and only thing not stock on car is the muffler and new spark plugs I just put in there. In fact, those parts that are back in it have about 9K miles on them only including the stock springs, shocks, TB, air lid, exhaust, muffler, etc.
I will update my pics to more recent ones. Some of them still show the headers and the car lowered. Sorry for the confusion. But here are recent interior and engine pics. Imagine the outside of the car being the same except 1inch higher off the ground.

I was under the impression that they underated these cars for HP because they wanted to make it seem like the corvettes made more. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry. But I do believe my car has the LS6 block. I've been told that. And the car was made in later 2002.

To the original poster, thanks for listing the prior mods. As I said before, that certainly clears a lot up, as people already noticed the headers and lowering springs. Once again, beautiful car and good luck with the sale

Well, you can go ahead and assume a 15% (on average) power loss between crank power and rear wheel power. Most 6-speed cars make between 300 and 320 at the wheels stock. Just for comparison, 15% of 300 is 45, so a 300rwhp car is making approximately 345 at the crank. So, seeing as most horsepower claims from dealers are crank power, GM rating f-bodies at 300 for Z28/Trans Ams and 320 for SS/WS6 cars, they are thought to be underrated, as these numbers are closer to rwhp. If GM was claiming rwhp, then they wouldnt introduce the motor as the 300hp LS1 V8.

Sure, if you want to rate crank HP you could say the dealer under rates them, but RWHP from the factory, STILL theyre not making 350-375 hp.
