Unfortunately, your about the 100th person to ask me through this web-board and EBay.
I will only sell the rims and tires if the new buyer want's the stock Hawk rims and tires back on the car.

Good luck on the sale man! I hope you can sell it to someone that appreciates it as much as you have.

Thanks!
Me too.
There is an older guy in North Carolina that is getting serious about it.
I think there is about 16 people "watching" the car on EBay right now.
So something may happen in the next couple of days.

I will find out later on today. He hasn't offered me anything as of yet, but didn't seem to complain about the price. He was actually complimenting the price, because their are some Hawks out there with only t-tops and about twenty something thousand miles for around 26k or 27k. For a couple of thousands more you can have a convertible with under 10,000 miles and a few thousand dollars in aftermarket parts along with the original stock parts as well and a warranty to compliment it too.
And keep in mind that this is much more rare than any t-top Hawk with a six-speed.

The auction is over in about 10 hours with 17 people watching it, so maybe tomorrow if it doesn't sell, I would probably get more offer's later on tonight.
If I don't get anymore interest in the next couple of weeks, I will probably go down on the price and then see what happens.

Oh yeah, one joker offered me $18k. I told him for that he could go find a "HIGH" mileage regular TA and buy that one instead.

......and let's just say that the Hawk will be "featured" in something in the next coming months, if all goes well.........

Since I'm strictly an SS man .. and in the years 2001 & 2002 only, I cannot possibly tell you what a realistic price on these Firehawks can be.
It's strictly my belief there is no such thing as a $30k LS1.

I still have not found out the logic concerning the price drop on these cars.
They started out at $30k-$40k and are now about half price.

It seems only very very low mileage LS1's have the good price and are still nowhere in the "fine and rare collectors car" price genre.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEDW%3AIT

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEDW%3AIT

In all honesty and strictly my opinion, I would have a hard time giving anyone $18k for a 01-02 any LS1.
As a prospective buyer, of course I will wait until the bottom falls out on the LS1's.
I'm getting ready to offer the guy with the $30k 02 SS Vert SS with 1300 miles $20k .. and I would still be asking myself .. "what did I just do..." so what will happen is that he will not sell it and I will not get the car .. simple as that

To repeat myself many other times over.... GM ONLY offered through SLP to only build 1,502 FireHawks for the 2002 year. GM also went ahead and offered through SLP almost what 10,000 or so SS's in 2002.
And with mine being a 1 of 17 (estimated) built with being a convertible and an automatic, makes my car "rare". How many FireHawk convertibles do you see on the road versus an SS convertible?
Since I have own mine here in Houston I have not yet to see one FireHawk convertible since I had bought mine almost 2 years ago. I can also tell you that there isn't a member on this board (and there ALOT of members) that has a black on black FireHawk convertible with an automatic transmission.
If there is, I haven't seen them.

Thus making the car "rare" and little more money than a regular SS. And in my opinion I think the FireHawk looks better than the SS anyways.

From what I can also gather, my car brand new in 2002 would've cost ya around $45,000 or maybe a little under that. And the car being under 10k miles right now, it's like buying a new car all over again.

Go to the NADA Guide site. It has a FireHawk option and it will tell you the true blue book value of the car.

But also keep in mind that the market may not bare the true blue book value of the car either.
If I can't get what I am asking for the car, then I will come down, but it will be at a price.
I will more than likely de-mod the car and put it all back to stock, to gain some of my money back.

So you cannot compare a SS convertible to a FireHawk convertible, or the fact they both have LS1's.
The FireHawk is a more rare breed versus the SS, and GM will probably bring back the SS but WILL NOT bring back the Trans Am ever again, thus making the car a more of a collector's.

I know you're frustrated and I don't blame you.
You and everbody else paid $30k-$40k for these cars.
Now they are getting half price at best.

But you need to come to terms that the allure of these F-body LS1's is gone.
Nobody knows why.

I showed you low mileage SS's that are still getting $25k-$30k.
Nobody knows why.

I heard a strange story from a dealer friend of mine that they will never be worth anything even in 20 years.
He had a 2001 WS6 with about 10k miles and said he got out of his for $19k last October. However he is known for telling tall tales.

If you're not getting offers over $18k thats the proof of the market for these.

I even emailed this guy and told him he was high and won't even get one bid.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...RK%3AMEWA%3AIT

He gave me the same story you just did.

Even this guy with the 3000 mile Full On SLP SS might have to take whatever someone gives him.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...e=STRK:MEWA:IT

My opinion is that you need to come to terms and cut your losses and do the de-mod if you really need to sell it.

Like I said I'm an SS/Camaro man. They are part of the NASCAR tradition.
I have always thought of the pontiac firebird/formula/TA/WS6/Firehawk as a foo foo car and thats just the way I feel.
I mean c'mon .. a flared nostril hood gives it respectable seriousness?

But since I do have over $30k to spend, I can barely bring myself to buy any F-body as they are kids cars to me now.
However, I miss my 2001 Camaro SS, thus I will buy a $14-$16k 2001 SS to modify in the tradition of NASCAR as I still have the "badly bitten bug."

Right now I'm going to call this guy and see what he wants for his 2002 Z06 with 11,000 miles that even the high bidder corporate buyer didn't continue to bid on.

another frustrated firehawk owner?

I only know this guy when he posted to my WTB; 2002 SS Vert in Triple Black.
It specifically states to prepare for sacrifce if any other car.
I'm not interested in a collectors car at $30k if this is its only virtue.

My 2001 SS blew the doors off anything on the street and it was bone stock and along with its venomous reputation .. well this appeals to me .. so I know what an SS can do and what it means.

I really know nothing about the pontiac LS1's other than they seem overpriced because they seem somewhat rare .. what is it that makes them so special to command these kinds of dollars, they apparently don't get?

Well except for this Blackbird?
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...tem=4558317904

What the heck makes this so special?

Allrighty,
I think I am "officially" asking you "politely" to stay out of my thread and post in your "I need a SS" thread only.
I am asking for my car to be sold and not for this to be a FireHawk or SS bashing thread.
I posted once in your thread, to see if there was interest in buying my car since it was a vert and black on black. So now i know that there is no interest, I would would ask you nicely to and stay out.

Thanks.

eddierox, this is a classified ad. Please spare us your ridiculous banter and move along if you aren't interested in the car. If you are too clueless to understand why a Black Bird or a Firehawk bring in higher values, then we aren't here to educate you in the classifieds forum.
